This piece is an excellent example of how costume designers are frequently required to create duplicates of their costumes. The number of copies needed for a costume can vary depending on how often the piece appears in the production, if additional costumes are needed for stunt doubles, or if the outfit has to undergo any changes, such as getting wet. It is also safe to have a spare costume around in the event that something were to happen to it. This ensures that production won’t halt if a costume needs to be cleaned or mended. One famous example of a costume being heavily duplicated is Scarlett O’Hara’s paisley gown, which required up to seventeen versions in varying states of disrepair. This green sweater set with polka-dot collar and cuffs was designed by Edith Head for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 film 𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒐, in which it was worn by Kim Novak as Judy Barton. The costume likely went back into the Paramount studio’s stock and eventually was purchased through an online auction by film costume collector Larry McQueen of The Collection of Motion Picture Costume Design. He noted of the piece: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒖𝒔𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒎𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒄𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒄𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒔), 𝒔𝒌𝒊𝒓𝒕, 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒕, 𝒂 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒂-𝒅𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒇 (𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒕), 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒑𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒔. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒂 𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 “𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒌,” 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒊𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 “𝑪𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒚.” McQueen did a bit more digging to determine who “Cindy” might be. He considered productions that would have been produced by Paramount that were set in the 50s. Eventually, he discovered that the piece was worn by Cindy Williams as Shirley Feeney in 𝑳𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒆𝒚. The sweater is seen in the 1976 episode 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑺𝒖𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒐𝒎. The cuffs were removed for usage.
The Hunt For Ben Solo
Today comes the shocking news via Associated Press (AP) that beginning in 2021, Adam Driver spent two years trying to get a post-TROS Ben Solo movie off the ground. Titled "The Hunt For Ben Solo," the project would've reunited Adam with Scott Z. Burns (The Report) writing the screenplay and with Steven Soderbergh (Logan Lucky) directing. Dave Filoni loved it. Kathleen Kennedy loved it. Adam said it was the bleeping best script he's ever been a part of. He compared it to TESB.
Bob Iger and Walt Disney Pictures president Alan Bergman shot it down.
Because Ben Solo was dead. You know, in a galaxy where Darth Maul was sawed in half and managed to come back. Where Boba Fett survived the Sarlaac pit. Where Palpatine was resurrected in the very last film with little to no explanation.
Based on what I've seen on X, Reylos, rats, film twitter, and fanboys are united in their utter shock, anger, and disgust. You have one of the most talented, in-demand, respected actors around who WANTS to come back to Star Wars (and didn't wait 15-20 years to want to come back either), who LOVES his character, and was probably the most popular character to come out of the ST. You have an Oscar-winning director who WANTED to make a SW film and directed Adam in one of his most memorable performances. You have an Oscar-nominated screenwriter waiting in the wings. And they were going to get it done with a smaller budget. IT WAS A NO-BRAINER AND THEY STILL TURNED IT DOWN.
This film may or may not have reunited Ben with Rey but I believe it would've healed a lot of the bad vibes after TROS. It would've made people feel a lot better about the ST. And I think Adam believed so too.
This isn't just corporate stupidity, it's malfeasance. If enough fans owned Disney stock, we should file a shareholder's suit! Bob Iger is clearly allergic to money. Picture this:
JARED LETO: Hey, I know my last franchise movie flopped but how about if I star in a third Tron movie? Sure the last one was like 13 years ago and Tron never had more than a nerdy guy cult following, and there are all these allegations against me, but I think it'll be awesome.
BOB IGER: Sure, I'll even give it a $200 million budget!
ADAM DRIVER: I've got Steven Soderbergh and Scott Z. Burns to make a Star Wars film with Ben Solo post-TROS. We can get it done super cheap. The fans will love it!
BOB IGER: LOL, no.
While I think it's long been past Kathleen Kennedy's expiration date, I've maintained for years that the problems with Star Wars extend well beyond her leadership. This whole fiasco just proves that point. The Mandalorian & Grogu and Starfighter might turn out okay but right now the ship is run by fools. And I think the fundamental problem is that Disney's suits do not love Star Wars.
The good news is Iger is out the door next year (I hope for good this time) and new leadership might give "The Hunt For Ben Solo" another look. Maybe that's why Adam dropped the bomb now while he's supposed to be promoting his new flick Father Mother Sister Brother.
Time to turn up the noise...Bring Ben Solo Back!

Guys I don’t think I’m meant to be a cinephile tell me why Song Sung Blue is probably my favorite of the movies that I’ve seen in theaters this year.
It was a little long, and because it’s based on a true story they probably toned down any bad traits of the main characters.
But it had so much heart and the characters were so nice. And they cared so much.
I don’t know I’m just a sap and I loved it and had a great time. Recommend if you need your heart warmed or are a fan of Hugh Jackman and/or Kate Hudson (both incredible performances)
I agree with this; I watched this on a PLANE and was completely sucked into it. Terrific movie and fantastic performances. Great cast chemistry.

Incredible mail-order catalog started by Cher in 1994; this is the 1995 edition. Unfortunately, it seems the venture ended after the 1995 issue. According to a 1998 article, this was due to mismanagement & order-fulfillment problems.

This necklace appeared in the 2006 film 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒆, where it was worn by Scarlett Johansson as the character Olivia Wenscombe. But that wasn’t its first time on screen! Before then, the necklace had appeared in the 1997 𝑩𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝑺𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓 episode 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒅, worn by Juliet Landau as Drusilla. Who found this sighting? Find out at Bit.ly/Acces085
Elizabeth Taylor talks about her commitment to HIV/AIDS activism and her reasons for stepping up and raising awareness at a National Press Club luncheon held in Washington, D.C. on June 3rd, 1987. An early trailblazer in the fight against HIV/AIDS and a staunch and outspoken LGBTQ+ ally, Elizabeth devoted her time and energy to the cause when her close friend and co-star Rock Hudson was diagnosed with AIDS prior to his passing in 1985. Elizabeth went on to become a co-founder (alongside Dr. Mathilde Krim) of the first AIDS research center amfAR, and later founded her own separate Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in 1991 with the specific focus of providing nutritious meals (as well as medical and financial assistance) to people living with HIV and AIDS. She also lobbied the U.S. congress to contribute more money for AIDS research and education, devoting the last twenty-six years of her life to the cause. After Elizabeth passed away in 2011 at the age of 79, a large percentage of the $156,800,000 raised at the Christie’s auction of her legendary jewelry collection was bequeathed to her charity in order to continue providing the services and assistance she believed were important in perpetuity. The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, now helmed by her grandson Quinn Tivey who serves as an officer and co-trustee, remains active providing assistance and promoting HIV/AIDS awareness to this day. Great strides have been made in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and the disease, with access to the right treatment, is thankfully no longer considered the death sentence it once was. As Elizabeth stated at the Eighth International Conference on AIDS in 1992: "If you do your bit with all of your heart, and I do my bit with all of my heart, and everybody out there does the same thing, we will make a goddamn difference."
