(ย HENRYK! )ย
He was confused about what might be happening, mostly because he didnโt know what she might be referring to. However when she spoke, he nodded his head a little bit. Henryk had met a lot of people throughout his travels with his birth parents, however, he didnโt remember the girl in front of him.ย Part of him wondered if she wasnโt telling him the truth when she answered his question, mostly because it didnโt make sense that she would ask him if they had met before if they really hadnโt.ย
Henryk had stayed quiet for a moment, just waiting to see what was going to happen next. Part of him considered kindly parting ways in order to get back to his run, but before he had committed to it, she asked him for his name.ย โItโs Henrykย Panhellenios.โ He answered, knowing it wasnโt a name most people heard, but one that he was proud of. Another moment of silence came between them, but now he was intrigued as he noticed her voice grow a little softer with her last question.ย โWhatโs your name?โ He asked, returning the question to her this time. He didnโt know why, but there seemed to be a bit of a draw towards her.ย
NO. SHE HADNโT HEARD THE NAME BEFORE. it was an unusual one at that, but meg wouldnโt voice her judgement (people tended to be picky about their names). and she suddenly felt something all too familiar to her -- disappointment. at what exactly? she wasnโt quite sure nor was she too keen to find out, despite her initial curiosities suddenly pushing her towards him and yet neither could she pull away. a simpleย โgoodbyeโ after his response and that would be the end of it and she was still there, curious to see what would happen.ย
while her intrigue stayed, the softness in her voice seemed to distill as she stood up straighter, looking at him directly in the eyes.ย โmeghan leos. my friends would call me meg, if i had any.โ it was her dry attempt at humour, the most cliche line she could have thought of with a pathetic element of truth to it. she liked meg more than she liked meghan (the h made no sense) but not many people knew her name, let alone called her that. not to mention the painful memories of a soft voice parroting her name in the distance... the thought subconsciously pierced a frown into her expression.
