I need every single person to understand how horrible tumblr’s tagging system is

I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.

Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.

Serena Zagranis needs help.

She could become homeless very soon and I don't want that to happen. I've approached her of my own volition to ask if I could try and make a post like this in an attempt to help.

Hi everyone! So since i dont really have time to draw the comic today I decided instead of doing a funfact posts about the comic! Because despite everything I DO add some things here and there. This is also gonna be a bts ig haha. At least to share my creative points with everyone .

SO LETS GET STARTED!

But ANYWAYS FIRST OF ALL our protagonists!

ANNA AND PIO

• Their names are Pyotr and Joanna, but everyone uses their surnames.

• Pio is the oldest while Anna is the youngest.

• Anna is a girl while Pio is a boy. A lot of people get their genders wrong, which i totally understand seeing how they look but their genders DO have something to do with the story that we will see later on in the comic. 🕺

• Pio is around 13 and 14yo and my baby Anna is only 10 to 11yo. I reaaally like the dynamic of the short one being the oldest. And once again it WILL have something to do with the story

FUNFACT : I actually didnt have their names up until part 4 LMFAOOOOO

THEIR DESIGNS

I used silhouettes to create their designs actually!

TADC has really simple but understandable silhouettes, so in order to follow that lead i couldn't really add that many things to their designs because i wanted them to look as if they truly could exist in the serie.

here are some test i did and as yall can see some were really... goofy AUSBSUSHSH

As you can also see i already knew more or less what i wanted the kids personality to be like and tried to convey it as much as possible with the shapes.

Now the actual design.

I more or less knew what i wanted. I wanted a mix of Jax and Pomni. So what i decided was to make a jester dressed as a rabbit while the other would be a rabbit dressed as a jester.

Ever since the beginning i heavily inspired myself out of characters of the Comeddia dell arte.

More specifically Pierro and Arlekin.

Pierro is a sad clown that loves with all his heart, but to whom his love will never really be reciprocated.

And Arlekin ( who also happens to be the youngest amongst all the characters of the commedia) enjoys seeing others misfortunes and overall be a swift trickster

I thought about it as the characters are all playing a role in the commedia, just like in the circus. It's all a show. So i thought the correlation was nice.

THE NAMES

So we all know that TADC has some biblical storyline going on. All with the last supper and caine and abel etc etc

So i also wanted their names to have a meaning

Since Pomni's name is russian I decided to go with Pyotr for Pio. Which translates to Peter. Yes like the apostle.

Also his nickname Pio is a spanish word, it's a name we usually use for the Pope lolololol. It means compassionate, merciful and devout, but can also mean a keen want of something.

Now Anna.

Jax means god has been gracious, has shown favor. And since I also kinda hc him as being latino i wanted a name of that kind. And Joanna coincidentally also means god is gracious.

And just as Pio her nickname also has a meaning since it means "the gracious one", which will make sense later on as well.

Funfact not so fun: ANNA WAS SO HARD TO MAKE

Pio's design went quite smoothly I didn't really have many problems

His design was the easiest to choose, his colors were easy to choose, his name came quite naturally as well.

ANNA ON THE OTHER HAND????? A NIGHTMARE i couldn't choose which design i liked, i couldn't choose her colors and her name omfg HER NAME it took me so long to find bc I wanted their names to go with their personalities and NOTHING FITTED HER.

So shout-out to my friend who helped me bc they told me

Pomni and Pio both start with a P so itd be nice if the girl also had a name starting with J like Jax

now unfortunately I can't put more pictures in here so i might do a PT.2 of this later on
