I was rewatching a punkydoodles short that used an audio clip from the show Brooklyn 99 where a guy lists off the ground rules, and honestly it was a missed opportunity to not include electrocution or taser use.

The epilogue of endings reminds me a lot of the vocaloid song heat abnormal, mainly because of how similar the themes are.

Heat abnormal is a song about the world ending from heat death (the sun dying), and Epilogue of endings also happens to have something similar to heat death. Except with a more eldritch twist (the sun hatching like an egg).

There's also no hope present of the world returning to some form of normalcy, because the world has ended.

The apocalypse sure is a sorrowful thing to think about, especially since there might not be a hopeful ending afterwards like everyone hopes.

I can't help but think of that one shadow the hedgehog fabdub scene where they fight the final boss Doom (or da devil) but with Sage as Shadow and Equinox as Doom.

It's just very amusing to think of because Equinox does claim to be one of the evilest beings in the Galaxy, and he probably will get beaten and redeemed with the power of love (from a certain bug) and friendship.

Sometimes I see people talking about how ‘Bug Fables wouldn’t change much if the characters were humans!!!’ Yes. Yes it would, would you like to consider how that would recontextualize the Giant’s Lair.

Or the lore book that says if children aren’t cared for properly, they’ll turn into a lesser bug.

The mimic spiders in the Forsaken Lands, the fact most of Bugaria is inside a sandbox…

Hell, even the Wasp King’s twist (that he’s a fly). People forget that Bug Fables, as a whole, does use its bug themes prominently if you don’t get stuck thinking about the character design. Say, let’s compare Maki to the Mantis tribe in Hollow Knight. Yes, Maki is heavily anthropomorphized compared to the Mantis tribe. But, take in the extra context that manti in Bug Fables are drawn to sharp swords and weaponry because of the evolutional development of losing their claws, his design instantly becomes more charming.

If I had a Bug Fables OC I think it would be fun to have a sapient Mimic Spider who is trying to pass themselves off as an ant and ingratiate into the Ant Kingdom because the forsaken lands suck and most of the other spiders are just animals basically. So they want to become part of an insect community for safety (which is how some real Mimic Spiders actually function btw).

I mostly just imagine funny dialog like "how do you do fellow insects? It sure is a wonderful day for a walk outside with all six of our limbs and see the beautiful scenery with our only two eyes, is it not?" And characters either falling for it in a very Sir Bearington style. Or not falling for it AT ALL and basically reacting like " D= .... =x ? "

Becoming an explorer with a fly partner and Bugging the Fables or whatever.

Just had the caffeine equivalent of a sizable cup of espresso, time to rant

I love Tumblr because it allows me to find content about all my special interests. However then I start having funny crossover thoughts. But none of my friends have them. Ugh.

(I guess I’m just a Hollow Fables blog now lmao)

One of my biggest Hollow Fables thoughts is if either Pharloom or Hallownest would be worse for Team Snakemouth. And after some pondering, it depends on if you’re think physiologically or physically. I’m on board with the idea that Pharloom would be mentally crippling for Team Snakemouth. Why? It still has people living there. In squalor, in suffering, on death’s door. Fresh corpses litter the streets, and pilgrims crumple in front of them. Saying nothing but praises to a Citadel they will never see. And they can’t help. That would destroy them. These people are too far gone. That silk is in their blood, passed on from their ancestors. It is an inescapable curse. Say Kabbu meets a pilgrim near Bonebottom, and tries to tell them how dangerous the journey could be, and how they should stay back. But the pilgrim ignores him, saying how wonderful reaching the Citadel shall be. Later in the Marrow, that same pilgrim is strung helplessly, tossing themself at Team Snakemouth, mind far gone.

Team Snakemouth are helpers. They take every quest they can, they lift others up. And now, a whole kingdom full of suffering bugs is in front of them. And they can’t do ANYTHING. To be unable to do the thing that makes you ‘you’ must be torture and suffering! Their empathy would be the death of them in Pharloom. Put this together with my ‘if Team Snakemouth got to Pharloom through the Forsaken Lands, they would arrive in Act Three’ headcanon…

Yeah Pharloom would leave them with trauma no celebration, kudos or kindness would ever fix.

Hallownest? That still has dangers left after the Infection. But the corpses of the peoples are hundreds of years old. There is no one left to save. That would hurt, but they would not have to watch its fall as it happens. It wouldn’t hurt more than any physical scar they would get in Hallownest.

okay so i have been thinking of a bug fables/hollow knight crossover au where team snakemouth does go to hallownest and helps out in saving the kingdom (by complete accident and i’ll explain)

in this case, this is set before the hollow knight has to seal the radiance (so basically a ‘hollow gets saved’ au timeline)

and this all happened bc team snakemouth came to hallownest by complete accident, like they were never meant to be there in the first place

all of this transpired bc they’re not the only team there :)

team mothiva is also with them >:)

the teams were recommended (forced) to have a team bonding exercise and head to a different kingdom that’s nearby and super safe and bc they can never get along, they went the wrong direction and ended up in hallownest

shenanigans ensued
