Here’s how it’s all going:

Got to work and apparently the fridge isn’t cooling properly (go figure) so we’ve had to move all the food into the other mini fridges, so it’s all cramped and difficult to find, plus that makes it so we are only prepping certain things as needed, which is difficult to determine when it comes to food prep.

Also, the ice maker is making ice very slowly (almost more slowly than we are using it.)

Then, my (once) favorite customer has now decided to try to make things weird between us. He’s around 72 years old, I saw him as almost like a bonus grandpa. We always talk when he comes in, just small talk, nothing crazy. I gave him cookies I made one time when I had extra that I’d made my coworkers around Christmas. So, about two weeks ago, I had a dream about him wherein I discovered he was actually not a good person and I was shocked that he was able to hide it so well at first. I guess I’m having Jedi force visions now because the next time I saw him after I had that dream, this man asks to give me a ride on his motorcycle. I thought it was an odd gesture on his part, mostly because he’s just a customer and I don’t know him that well (I don’t even know this man’s last name if that tells you anything) and I think asking to do something together outside of work is a bit of an overstep, but you know. I don’t think he meant any harm.

So, today…my male coworker comes in the back and tells me “(favorite customer) thinks you’re mad at him”. I was shocked so I went out and asked him why he thought I was mad at him and he said because of him asking me to go on a motorcycle ride with him last time. I told him I wasn’t and just kind of laughed it off, so then he offered again, multiple times, and added on that maybe we could go down to another city he likes to ride to (mind you, this city is an hour and fifteen minutes away from where I live) and get food. 💀💀💀 As soon as he left I asked all my coworkers if they thought that was odd and they all agreed it was. The male coworker I mentioned has always thought this guy was weird but he’s never stepped out of line before until now.

My male coworker also mentioned that before another coworker left, this customer asked for her work schedule💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

Outside of work, AC is still not working properly and is putting out a lot of water in the basement (ah, yes, my number one public enemy: water.) so I think either a drain line might be clogged or I’ve got frozen pipes or something. I think the unit itself is fine. So we will see on Thursday💀💀💀💀💀 because they can’t get here until then💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

Oh! And I have to drive my old car again because I’ve had my Hyundai for only 3 months and it’s already got a recall!!! So Adam is taking it to work with him tomorrow to have the recall fixed and I should have it back tomorrow evening.

And one of my parents cats had to go to the vet and they suspect liver issues. We get the test diagnosis tomorrow.

And one last thing: I bought a nest thermostat today but when I tried to pay for it, my card got flagged for fraud so I had to make an impromptu call to my bank which almost made me late to work🙃

Oh and I almost forgot! I left my meds at my house instead of remembering to bring them so I was late taking them tonight☺️☺️☺️☺️

Today wasn’t nearly as bad as yesterday, but a couple of things happened:

At one of my parents rental properties the textured ceiling has pulled away from the drywall and is sagging a few inches down. They initially thought it was water damage, but fortunately it’s only from the humidity. It’s still going to be a somewhat intensive demo/fix.

My Hyundai got its recall fixed! Adam got it all handled for me today (I love him for that🩷) and I only had to drive my old car for less than 24hrs.

My parents got the diagnosis for their cat Tommy: it’s liver issues, combined with what the vet thinks is some kind of an infection and his kidneys don’t look good either. They gave him an antibiotic shot today, but I have a gut feeling we won’t have him for much longer. I hate that, but he’s had a long and very happy life with us for fifteen years.

Day 4 (I think) of AC not working properly…only one more full day before the repair people come. Yay! Thank goodness for the fan Adam bought, otherwise I’d have stayed with him all week (I didn’t feel comfortable leaving the cats.)

Slowly, I’m getting through the week from hell. I am determined to survive it, even if it’s hell every day.

Wasn’t expecting it to storm this morning, so I got caught in it. Was typing responses to DMs received from @ajokeformur-ray when the power went out and it deleted half of what I’d written💀😭

Work was super busy and their plumber came to work on the sink right in the middle of a rush.

Came home to a letter from my insurance company that my updated/revised homeowners policy hasn’t been paid yet and if it’s not paid by the 15th that they’ll cancel my home’s coverage💀💀💀 So I have to figure out if the bank is planning on paying that out of my mortgage account anytime soon💀💀💀💀💀

Today was a shitstorm, yet again.

The repairman for the AC unit was supposed to come between 12-4pm, so of course he called at 10:30am (while I was still asleep) to tell me he’s on the way💀💀💀

My parents said they’d be there with me while he was here, but since he came early, when I called them they told me that I shouldn’t have let him come that early, so yet again it’s all my fault because I didn’t do the right thing. They told me to call him back and tell him I won’t be available until the scheduled time but I was so panicked and pissed that I told them I was worried he’d get busy with another job that day and tell me he wouldn’t make it until next week so I had to have him come whenever he was available and going to show up. I would rather be mildly inconvenienced in that way than have to potentially go another weekend with no AC.

The unit is “fixed”. It was low on freon (the stuff that makes the air cold) so he topped it off and says he suspects there’s a leak in it somewhere but he can’t find it so he wants to come back in a week or two to figure out where the leak is. So for now, I have AC again and all’s well with that.

Next, I got two letters: one from my insurance company and one from my bank. Apparently what happened is my homeowners policy gets paid from my mortgage account and the bank does what’s called an escrow disbursement and pays it for me so I never have to directly pay the insurance company for that. Well, the bank changed their headquarters so what I think happened is when the insurance company sent a letter to have the policy paid, they sent it to the bank’s old headquarters so they received that notice late and therefore the check for the insurance company went out late and now the insurance company is telling me I need to pay it by the 15th or they’ll cancel my policy💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

So I called the insurance company today and the employee told me hopefully the check would arrive on time, but if it didn’t, he couldn’t guarantee my policy wouldn’t get cancelled anyway, so he said if the check doesn’t arrive by Wednesday of next week to call again and give them a 31% down payment of the insurance premium and that will extend the policy coverage for a few months, so then when the check for the full amount arrives they will refund that down payment back to me.

Seems like a hell of a lot of work for a mistake that wasn’t mine, but such is life.
