THE GODS OF KALEIDA. kaleida is a land in which the gods walk among man in varying forms -- in some kingdoms, they directly rule and reign and have done so for dynasties, in others they rule from above through divinely appointed kings. It really depends upon what part of the world you’re in.
The central continent is the kingdom of the Solarin family -- Considered the territory of the God Nemeth. Nemeth resides over destruction, but his story is complex and he’s passed, like a blood curse, through the family from generation to generation. Nemeth and Nehemiah can be found @willowlilted
The south of Kaleida is a HUGE continent, home to desert lands and multiple cities strewn throughout the sands -- one of which is considered to be the oldest known civilization still standing. Here in this kingdom, the Gods still rule the people from among them. The Gods who are said to have created Kaleida reside here ( and can be read about below ) and though they aren’t the only Gods that make their home in the city with it’s grand kingdom and temples, they are the most important:
Solvi -- the god king. It was he who created the circling suns, who breathed life into the dragons that created the earth of Kaleida. Divine King of Kaleida. He isn’t a particularly kind man, he regards himself as being better or above the mortals he created– but he is elegant and powerful, and he listens to the council of his siblings so long as they remember he is above them. He is associated with prophecy, day, sunlight, and creation.
Caeros -- One of the six God’s that created Kaleida, but he has little interest in helping to run the kingdom. Rather, Eros prefers to stay and live in his temples, traveling from temple to temple and offering healing and blessings of love to those who need them. Despite being the God that knows the people the best, he is regarded as the furthest away from them. He is ethereal and distant, despite his smiles. Much like the stars he also presides over. He is associated with love, heart, stars & magic.
Sylios -- The God of Void and Space. Sylios and Solvi are seen as being in direct opposition to one another -- while Solvi created the suns, Sylios created the force that moves them. He lives apart from the other gods and is a little reclusive, all things considered. He is associated with emptiness, night, moonlight and destruction.
Ilya -- revered as the people’s God, Ilya is a god of healing and peace. Doctors and Healers of all kinds come to his temple to study and learn beneath his tutelage. He’s kind and protective of every generation of mortals that come to learn beneath him. He is associated with herbs, healing, and medicine.
Liton -- God of the oceans and seas. Having been exiled from the Godly court and from many of the great cities, Liton resides in the oceans and makes ocean travel from one kingdom to the next incredibly dangerous. Sea creatures, serpents, monsters of all kinds, dwell in the inky depths. The ocean isn’t a friend to the people and neither is Liton. He is associated with the ocean, mystery, and danger.
Arasil -- God of Death and the Dead. Arasil willingly withdrew from the pantheon and took up residence within the kingdom beneath the earth -- the underworld is a physical place just as much as it is a metaphysical one -- though it’s dangerous to travel there. Arasil loves life and it’s many facets, but much about the underworld of kaleida is unknown to the people. He is associated with death, rebirth, and the earth.
the Gods all have a complicated system of relationships to one another -- and there are many other gods beyond just these core six.
Further south from the capitol of this continent -- through a dangerous desert riddled with sand filled ruins of the old kingdom and wyverns beneath the sand -- is Embercrest. Embercrest is a desert community primarily made of guilds. They reject life living beneath the Gods.
To the Far North of Kaleida is the Cold Kingdom -- there are whispers through the rest of the world about what goes on that far north. A land that rejects magic ( the very heartbeat of Kaleida. All people, mortal or godly, possess an aptitude for magic dependent upon the strength of their heart. ) But to the north, Magic is seen as aberrant and ungodly. It strays from the light of their personal god.
There is a continent said to be uninhabitable, filled with terrible monsters and wild creatures -- there’s a group of rebels who are opposing the north who actually have made their home there. Mages who live as one with the natural, wild world.
