Zuko using other elements in his bending is definitely important, but not the whole picture.

One of the points of the finale is to show that “being the best bender” is meaningless as a concept. (I mean from the fights we see, certainly Ozai looks like the strongest firebender, but does that make him the best firebender?) Every bending has its strength and weaknesses - what matters is knowing your own element, but also the other elements. Then there is creativity, strategy, teamwork, adaptability, heart (and luck) that will decide a fight.

But let’s talk about Zuko’s bending in the last Agni kai (or honestly anytime post-dragons). Because it shows exactly how far he’s come. Since he doesn’t rely on rage anymore to fuel his fire, he becomes much calmer and focused. His breathing is perfectly controlled the whole time.

Thus, we come to the third and final book of the series. Here, we really see Aang and Zuko’s parallels come full circle. Zuko starts to be a little more like Aang and finally, everything Avatar has been building up to comes to a head.

Here, we see both Aang and Zuko in and around the Fire Nation. Aang is in hiding, and Zuko is struggling with his decisions. Come “The Day of Black Sun,” things change, and while the Avatar and his friends suffer a loss, Zuko joins the Gaang, and they go on to defeat Firelord Ozai.

Blaming is a cognitive distortion that many people use. This negative thinking pattern causes many problems. It takes away the person’s responsibility to accept their role in their problem. It also diminishes the person’s initiative to solve their problem because they see it as something external or out of their control. Blaming cause negative emotions such as, resentment, bitterness, and anger.

What is White Fragility?

I’m sure you’ve all seen these ‘defensive moves’ in action before. “I didn’t mean anything by it” “I wasn’t trying to be offensive” “I have a black friend” “Not all white people”

People are often more worried about being called a racist than actually doing something racist. In America white people often don’t even have to consider race. They often think of themselves as “raceless” white is conditioned to be the norm and everyone else is considered “raced” or “colored”. White fragility allows white people to govern when and how race is discussed. White people expect to be educated on racism, and in a nice way.

Why Is It A Bad Thing?

White people never learn as a result and are allowed to continue saying and doing racist things. White people prefer to hear these things from other white people but because other white people don’t know enough about racism, they cycle continues. When people of color do things like the BLACKLIVESMATTER movement, many white peoples responses were “all lives matter” this is white fragility. Proclaiming that black lives matter does not inherently mean that other lives don’t. This statement is made because society continually shows us that black lives don’t matter in america and these are the lives that need the affirming. We already know that white lives matter, it doesn’t need to be stated. White people are very used to being the center of things and when they aren’t it makes them uncomfortable.
