I'm aware of the endless appreciation posts on this app (as there should be) but I wanted to make my own, so here we are.

Because you are amazing. You're a man who knows that not all kids are white or cishet, and incorporates that into your books so everyone can feel included. Yes, I know the rep, particularly racially, isn't always perfect, but you try a lot goddamn harder that a fair lot of other authors. Your series gave us a lot of amazing POC and queer characters than the other books I read. And not only that, but your books are aimed at children, teaching them that it's okay to be queer, and there is a severe lack of children's entertainment that does this.

So thank you Rick, for Charles Beckendorf, a heroic black man in an interracial relationship who was a hero.

Thank you for Piper McLean, a girl of mixed race who saved the world and was a key part of Gaia's defeat, and also dated someone who was a different race to her.

Thank you for Leo Valdez, a character with a smart mouth and a lot of depth, who I adore and is also Latino.

Thank you for Hazel Levesque, a strong WOC who was raised in the 1940s, and gave up her life for the world.

Thank you for Frank Zhang, the sweetheart we all adore, who is also Asian and a skilled fighter.

Thank you for the Kane siblings, who are an amazingly powerful biracial duo, and for not ignoring the issues that come with their skin colour, and the difference.

There are a lot, and I haven't read all of the Kane chronicles yet, but thank you for all the other heroic POC in those books.

Thank you for Nico di Angelo, who I consider to be the most powerful demigod, and also a gay teenager who is now being exposed to my little sister, who doesn't know that I am in fact bisexual.

Thank you for Will Solace, another queer boy and Nico's loving boyfriend, who didn't shun him.

Thank you for Lester Popadopalous, the bi lead that has bought me so much joy and is a character who I hope will help my sister love and accept me when she finds out what me and Lester have in common.

Thank you for Emmie and Jo, an older wlw couple, one of which is a WOC, and showing us their love for their daughter, and how they are good parents and amazing characters.

Thank you for Magnus Chase, another queer lead who I fell in love with, who just likes Alex and doesn't see anything wrong with her.

Thank you for Samirah Al-Abbas a strong girl who is also a muslim, while adhering to the values of her religion while kicking ass. Extra thanks here for also education me on the Muslim faith.

Thank you for Alex Fierro, a genderfluid POC who had so much personality, and showed us that while not everyone is accepting there are always people who will love us no matter what.

Thank you for having so many characters in these books who were more than whatever minority they were.

What Happened To Kendrick Johnson and Why People Are Demanding Answers Even Now

On Jan. 11, 2013, the body of 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson was found in the most unusual of circumstances: upside-down and rolled up in a school gym mat. The mysterious death of Kendrick Johnson was initially ruled an accident by law enforcement asserting the ridiculous theory that Johnson must have accidentally fallen into the center of the mat while reaching for a sneaker

Some inconsistencies in the case:

the black and white gym shoe that lay on the ground below Kendrick Johnson, the one he was presumed to be reaching for, was lying on top of a pool of blood, but there was no blood on the shoe itself.

A hoodie and a pair of orange and black gym shoes were also found lying on the floor of the gym 

traces of blood on the wall nearby that wasn’t Kendricks. 

A private pathologist revealed Kendrick Johnson had suffered hemorrhaging on the right side of his neck, which meant that he likely died from blunt force trauma

the second autopsy revealed that some of Johnson’s organs were missing and in their place, his body had been stuffed with newspaper.

A whole hour of footage from the gym was missing, right at the time which would have shed light on what happened that day

Growing up with your starters

Bulbasaur: Somehow, nomming on my clothes… has become a weird habit of theirs.

Venusaur: That hasn’t changed now that they’ve grown, but they’re very gentle.

Charmander: It’s my first attempt, but I made a plushie so that he wouldn’t get lonely.

Charizard: That plushie seems to be his favorite even now.

Squirtle: Squirtle’s a bit timid and hides behind me at the smallest things.

Previously, I’d only seen the first two panels and assumed it was the complete comic.
