Was so excited to write everything I had painstakingly planned out and I had made so much progress and then the Writing Block Bus ran over me like a lot of times and then kicked me in the balls
Checking to see how much I've written since uploading Chapter One. First, let's get hard measurements. All of the text from the Prologue, Prelude, and Chapter one, altogether, is 17,431 words. Now,
I write in Ellipsus, so I have headers, meaning I need to subtract the word count for the Prelude header (since I didn't select the Prologue Header). In Ellipsus, it's simply "Prelude: Schism", so that's -2 words for a total of 17,429. Next up is the word count for what I have SO FAR for The Culling Game (Part One), which I'd estimate I'm about halfway through writing. All selected, with no headers to remove, that's:
Checking AO3, I last updated it (the upload of Chapter One: The Shibuya Incident) on June 12th.
It is currently July 4th. That's 22 days. If we divide Chapter Two: The Culling Game (Part One) by 22, we get roughly 732 words a day.
We can pretty easily compare that to how long it took me to write The Shibuya Incident chapter, which if you've seen my other posts, you know I hated writing that shit. Based on the AO3 update (and a post abt finishing it, posted on the same day), I finished Chapter One: The Shibuya Incident on June 12th. Looking back through my posts, I posted about finishing Prelude: Schism on March 1st. Selecting ONLY the text in Chapter One, it comes out to:
March 1st to June 12th is 103 days. Dividing 9,563 by 103 gives an average of about 93 words a day.
I hated writing the Shibuya Arc *SO MUCH* that it took me 103 days to write 9,563 words. I am LOVING the Culling Game arc SO MUCH, that I have written 16,372 words in 22 days, and am about halfway through writing the entirety of Part One.
I'M FREEE!!!!!!
And I'm about to feed y'all so well
just came up with the most wicked thing I could posibly do for the end of my fic and I'm literally sobbing after planning it all out. Not hyperbole btw I'm teeth-clenched toes-curled crying rn about what I'm going to do to my boy when the epilogue finally comes out
Anyways. Mandatory plug (sorry)
^ Fourth years are canonically discussed in JJK but never explored or even shown/named. As such,Fourth Year, a canon-compliant JJK fic, explores the story of Keito Ushiro, Tokyo Jujutsu High's sole fourth-year, through the major events of canon (and, eventually, after)
I FINISHED THE SHIBUYA ARC! WAR IS OVER!!! I'M FREE FROM JAIL!
Anyways read Chapter One: The Shibuya Incident by clicking on this text!

I'm in Shibuya Arc Prison rn and I cannot wait to get out. Writing the Culling Games arc for my boy will be my sanctuary. It will save me. Then back to jail with the Shinjuku Showdown arc but at least I have cool things planned for it so it won't be fucking solitary confinement like this arc is.
An interlude following the prologue and preceding Chapter 1 has been added to Fourth Year. Very short little moment. Schism https://archiveofourown.org/works/80343296/chapters/211278696#workskin
Fourth-Year: A Jujutsu Kaisen Expansion
Fourth-Year's 7.6 THOUSAND word prologue is now up on AO3. https://archiveofourown.org/works/80343296/chapters/210954121
Fourth-Year explores the canonical JJK fourth-years that are said to exist but never introduced. Well, specifically the *one* fourth-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High. It takes place at the same time as the main story, so the prologue is, naturally, The Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, as a third-year. It establishes his abilities going in to being a fourth-year, as well as familiarizing the reader with his relationships, habits, and flaws.
The Entitled are beings elevated to godhood via the power and Compulsion of words. Granted a single-word Title, these beings gain agelessness and are Compelled to act in accordance with their Title. Failure to do so results in Catastrophe, a fatal process in which the Entitled is unmade, often to the detriment of those nearby. Upon Elevation, an Entitled individual is granted one singular ability, though many are often also given a specific condition that enforces Compulsion. Entitled individuals can merge with at least one other individual through various means, most commonly by forming a Pact. The terms of a pact are situational, but typically this type of union results in the cessation of existence for the former two or more Entitled and the creation of one, singular being with a new, properly encompassing Title. The Pact often determines the name of this new being. The new Entitled will possess every ability of the former two or more Entitled, as well as one additional ability. - Rook
