Neville had been relieved to see a familiar face, especially with how anxious he was feeling. Heād heard Ron had been found alive, but nothing more, nor had he spoken to the ginger since Voldemortās fall. He regretted not checking in earlier. He seemed different. āYeah, thatās āim!ā He perked up in hope, surprise, grateful Ron had remembered, only to look distressed again a moment later.Ā āOh. Okay. Thatās alrighā, Ron. Well, if you see āimā¦āĀ He trailed off, figuring the man would know exactly what to do.
At the mention of Ginny, he hummed for a while in thought. He swore heād seen her earlier on, but all thoughts had been swallowed in his panic to find Trevor.Ā āUh, Iām not sure. No. I mean I did, yeah. But I donāt remember where. Are you, um - are you okay, Ron? Itās really good to see you, mate, yāknow. I canāt believe it, really.ā His initial reaction had been to give his old roommate a hug, but the other man didnāt seem all that approachable anymore. It devastated him.
āYeah. Yeah sure.ā Before, at Hogwarts, Ron would have made a sarcastic remark about how flighty Nevilleās pet was, before offering to help find him. But now, at risk of sounding like a selfish prat, he couldnāt bring himself to care enough. Not that he didnāt want Trevor to be found, he just lacked the the energy to help search.
āCan you try and remember where?ā Ron didnāt want to press for answers, but he felt uncomfortable without her by his side. Heād already suffered through losing her once, and it was the worst period of his life. He hadnāt even been able toĀ eat.Ā āFine, mate.ā Obviously a lie, but the only person heād be opening up to was Harry.Ā Ron would try to find him after heād located his little sister.Ā āUh⦠you?ā Heād almost forgotten to ask. Which wasnāt right, Neville had been a close friend, once.
