itโs hard to accept the notion that sheโs become a lot like the women she writes about. divorced women, girls stuck in awful relationships, miserable wives, their despondency is always clear, sharp, easily felt, but painful to digest. itโs entertaining at least, scarlett reminds herself as she recalls the number of people that have supported her work for years and given her a chance to conquer the new york times best sellers list more than once, and yet, perhaps her dejection ought to be attributed to the place where sheโs staying. of course, the deluxe beach house that sheโs rented certainly isnโt the issue, but rather itโs the entire town seems to lack charm, a distinct sort of beauty. as she reaches the lighthouse, she takes a moment to memorize the scenery, knowing that theyโll start shooting some of the scenes from her upcoming series right here, and then, soon enough, sheโll be free to leave. just as sheโs about to turn on her heel, she spots someone else, uncertain if she should say something. โi didnโt really expect to see anyone else here. perhaps i should inform you that this location will be closed for a couple of days due to filming.โ
ย ย ย ย romana would have never thought that she would have the opportunity to feel the peace she does while visiting the lighthouse. while in prison and spending her nights in her cell, she would daydream. now, romana isnโt the daydreaming type, but being locked in a cage changes your perspective. it changes you. romana felt as if she had lost her dignity. she didnโt have any control over anything. in many ways, it felt like her childhood home in arizona. the difference was that in arizona, romana had her sister. in prison, she was helpless and alone and had to learn quickly if she wanted to survive. in the end, the best advice she recieved was from her cellmate, would said it is what you make it. so, she would daydream. ( amongst other, more practic ways to spend her time. romana didn't have family outside of prison who could send her money to buy items off the prison commissary, like coffee, food, and toiletries. so she had to find other ways of earning cash. she made a hustle. ) she would daydream of all the places she was going to see. mountains, open skies and endless seas. when she got out, her daydreams became a reality, and then she ended up here in port whitley.
ย ย ย ย romana adapted, got herself on her feet and met a boy who would take her to the lighthouse every sunday evening. here she is now on a random day in the middle of the week, taking in the sights and sounds of what is now her freedom. she had aydin to thank for this. but now he's gone. just as easily as he had slipped into her life, he ripped himself away. a woman's voice takes romana out of her reveries. she's somewhat surprised that the stranger had decided to say anything to her at all, seeing as romana's features seemed to be placed in a permanent scowl. โ well, shit, โ romana sighs, looking out towards the water longingly, then around the area, trying to picture a film crew settling in and disturbing, well, everything.ย โ ... itโs about time i find another hideaway anyway. thanks for the heads up. โ this would allow her to explore port whitley more. she's been here a year and a half and still has yet to venture out more. aviator-shielded eyes flicker towards the woman.ย โ whatโs being filmed here, do you know? โ romana asks with curiosity.
