She gave him a charming smile, though she had no idea who he was talking to. She wasn’t going to let that run her off. “Do you visit the Underground at all?”

Roman smile slowly disappeared at the mention of the Underground. “No.”

“I couldn’t just leave you out in the hall where my neighbours could trip over you,” she replied, glancing up at him. “I found you when I got back from work last night,” last night meaning 3am. Winnie sighed as she looked down at the cards she’d turned, “That you and your ghosts aren’t a threat to me right now and that it’s time to let bygones be bygones,”

Roman tried to keep his eyes from narrowing as he stared at Winnie then back to her cards. “Did you just make that up?” With a wave of his hand Roman made sure that Luis, Justin, Eric and Billy couldn’t come to him just in case the cards were whispering some truth to Winnie. 

Talia looked up from her desk where she was writing patient summary notes. “My office. You were teleported here when I got in this morning. I thought it would be good to give you some time to rest.”

“What?“ Roman asked confused as he sat up. “Why would that happen?“

Averill considered the question, rocking back on his heels. “Probably not but that doesn’t always stop the curiosity,” he answered eventually. 

“You’ve set yourself up for multiple snippy comebacks.” Roman smiled and shrugged his shoulders. 

“In my living room,” Winnie replied. She was sat on the floor on the other side of the coffee table shuffling her tarot cards as she watched him start to wake up.

“Winifred? Why did you bring me here? How did I end up in your living room?“ Roman looked around then down at her cards. “What are they saying?“

Roman groaned and shifted around on his bed, nearly falling off the side before he corrected himself and realized he was on a couch. One cheaper and harder than the one he had at home. Opening his eyes, he groaned again, just from the color of the ceiling he could tell he wasn’t home. “Where am I?” he asked hoping one of his musketeers were around to answer him or someone else in general.

Averill looked back at his friend, his hands in the pockets of his tailored trousers. “I was just dropping something off,” he said casually but with no intention of elaborating further.  “Why would that be?” he questioned,

Roman stared at Averill a little while longer before his defensive stance relaxed. Roman regularly conversed with Averill’s sister more so than Averill himself. He left the time traveller to Ronan, Garrett, Kaylor, and Ishtar but still considered him a friend... Somewhat. “Would you truly care?” he asked in return.

Achilles watched him for a moment, heart stuck in his throat. He was unsure of what else to say. “Did she say anything else?”

“She said alot of things but I stopped listening after a while.“ 

“I need a reason to visit me friends?” Averill countered, watching the other warlock as he presumably waved off ghosts. Not being able to see them himself it was always impossible to know for sure. Since he first met Roman he’d come to expect there were ghosts around. “Well I’m not doing anything to them,”

“Yes.“ Roman said plainly. He slowly walked closer and waited for a explanation. “That doesn’t matter. I think it’s you in general.“

Achilles watched him leave briefly, before his curiosity got the best of him. He ran jogged after him and caught up with him outside. “What did she say?”

“Something about your dad is out of control and will eventually be the death of you and your little brother, if you don’t step in.“ Roman told him nonchalantly. “She was very adamant that I come see you. Most desperate and crying mothers are.“

“What are you doing here?“ Roman asked confused as he walked deeper into his brother home. “Why are they so loud?“ he groaned waving off a few spirits.

“And why should I believe you? My mother’s still alive.”

Roman shrugged and drowned his espresso shot in one go. Without another word he walked out of Nim’s.

Fenrin was on his feet by this point, his eyes full of concern for the other man. He made to move around the set up towards him but stopped when Roman made it clear he needed space. “Triplets?” the confusion was clear in his voice. His eyes moved down to his torso as he lifted his shirt and Fenrin muttered a few Swedish swear words. “Let me help with that, do you have a first aid kit?” he asked starting to move again, this time towards the kitchen for water.

“It just doesn’t make sense,” he shook his head, “I knew the family….” 

“Why would I need a first aid kit?“ Roman tried but he was unsure if he was giving Fenrin a ‘are you stupid‘ look or not. He followed after him, watching him closely as he entered the kitchen. “Can you heal with water?“
