NEW ERA. This whole section with Aaron and Iro was another terrible time for me, , , , During this time I started drawing with the vector layer because it was easier to tweak my ugly shitty ass gross art.

I just really hated drawing during this time. I still wanted to make comics but I just didn't want to draw! haha I GOT OVER IT. KINDA.

Thanks to the vector layer I wasn't redrawing whole pages but I did waste a lot of time moving lines around! My art looks so flat during this time, , , Which is kinda funny because I spent most of my time posing and using 3d models.

My edits mostly focused on fixing Aaron's wig tho. :^) THE ART IS...SERVICEABLE. I'm not mad at it anymore

A 2025 REDRAW. I still don't really like this page...JAJAJA

Yet another 2025 panel redraw. This panel gave me a lot of trouble. I remember redrawing it a couple of times :^( It was feeling like another Feliciano Rocha panel situation so I decided to give up. I went HANDS UP! and just avoided looking at this page. I wanted Aaron's intimidation game to be more over the top and space invading than Eli's and I wanted Iro to not react at all LOL

I think I was able to get exactly what I wanted with the new edit! I'm really surprised. Seeing these side by side is really something, , , It's a little painful to say it but my art(or at least this panel redraw) actually looks really good now!

This is the last of the big text edits. It still looks a little too wordy but it's a little nicer too. haha (COPE COPE COPE--LET ME HAVE THIS)

The last few pages went through a couple of redraws and fixing up n'such too but there's need to go through that! It's all just typical comic drawing process stuff. Nothing major worth talking about.

HOWEVER

I do want to talk about this chapter's original ending!!

bECAUSE ORIGINALLY I still had 20 or so more pages left to draw in this chapter!! WHICH IS CRAZY.

Every time I say script I don't mean one with just words. My scripts are just long webtoon style comics. It's frantic scribbling with no real sense of structure, oops all tangents-style word vomit, that I'm supposed to pick from when setting up the final page thumbnails. So I'm not supposed to adapt the whole thing o|-< but even if I were to break this chapter down into a very basic outline,, it just goes on for way too long!

The original chapter 3 script ends when Iro is back home with Eli. Not to spoil it but it'll be two more chapters before they get there now. I'm trying to keep future chapters at a cap of 15 pages so we don't get another long ass chapter.

Chapter four is straight up 10 pages long. I've already done all the line art for that. I still have to piece together chapter five thumbnails which is........30 pages in it's script form. ahh We'll see what I can cut or push into the next chapter.

What I usually do is copy-paste the art I liked from the original script into my final chapter sketch/thumbnails and rewrite my script from memory. o|-<

This is to help keep the all memorable/interesting parts in my comic but I don't think it's been a really good method so far because I only remember the stupid jokes LMAOO

In ch3, Iro is struggling to convince himself that going home is the best option! He soon discovers more and more troubling things about Eli and Feliciano! Louisa and Aaron give Iro a very good reason to stay! Stay and help Eli!

You: Has it really been that long--

Earlier this year I read a very old comic I drew during highschool and at the end of each chapter I had a FreeTalk section where I would talk about whatever happened in that chapter and other fun behind the scene things. These posts about the edits have a similar vibe! It's been fun, , , , , ,,

As for why Chapter3 took so many years to finish. Ahh,,,,

There are many reasons and they all piled on top of one another and made a terrible mess of things.

I can't really say I really solved any of my problems and that future chapters will be easier to release LOL M-MORE ON THIS LATER. It's troubling! AHH It's complicated! OOH

One of my problems was being poorunemployed but now I've had a steady-ish job these last couple of years I just don't really have that much time to draw... I have to get faster, , , ,I have to be more confident in my art and story, , , ,!

How do you do that?;;;

ERM. On to the edits! I have years worth of things to talk about! Most of the edits are rearranging text!

Page 2 of chapter 3 was incredibly wordy. This is the one of the few times I successfully shuffled things around in the edit! The page is so much CLEANER and the direction of the text is SO CLEAR. (imo)

Also! I'm about to do my longest Yeah BOIII ever in this tangent. I address the pronunciation and spelling of Eli's name on this page in the gutter. If someone(Spanish Speaker) is just looking at his name written down they would assume Eli(Ellie) is a woman!

Important note: Everyone in the comic calls him Eli and say it the way most English Speakers would read it! There will be some moments where they deliberately call him Ellie (either because they want to baby him or they saw how his name was written first and don't know he uses a different pronunciation) and I'll write it as such when that happens (from now on,,,,,)

Is this confusing yet? No? Well, Eli's real name is ELIAS! It would be pronounced as ELI-AS in English and ELLIE-AS in Spanish. It will be written as ELIAS in the comic but pronounced the Spanish way. Eli chose the English pronunciation for his nickname because he spent too much time in the US. Eli es el verdadero chico fresa. Iro aun no lo sabe. u___u Es malinchista por vida (Eli is the real strawberry yuppie. Iro doesn't know it yet. u__u He's a malinchista, which means he's a Mexican equivalent to a westaboo Lover of USA culture over Mexican culture... for life!)

If this comic were ever to be translated into Spanish then I would spell his name out as ILAI and use Eli for the moments when they try to baby him L-LOL

Another related thing.

Louisa calls him I-L-A-I

This is a sounded out spelling of his nickname and not very common as a name on it's own. She's being very careful to say his name right that it sounds a little off. L-LOL That was my intention with that spelling! She's exaggerating the pronunciation! Putting on an American accent.

Here's a comic that I was going to put in the chapter 2 extras but I changed my mind because it felt like it was, , , too much, , ,too confusing. I was still thinking" ah, I don't really have to talk about this. It's still just a confusing fun fact."

This all started because EARLY ON. In chapter one, someone left a comment asking how the characters are pronouncing Eli's name and I was tickled pink with such a fun Spanish-Language question about my comic! I thought oh, well, obviously--- NO, NOT OBVIOUSLY, PAL

HONESTLY. I thought it didn't matter too much! In my mind, they've always said Eli in English and Elias as ELLIE-AS. If Eli goes for this spelling but and English reading of his nickname then that's just a silly little fun fact and doesn't really matter in the story-- WRONG AGAIN, FUCK-O

Eli is the single most common name for a character. I know like, five people with a character named Eli. YOU, THE PERSON READING THIS, PROBABLY HAS A CHARACTER NAMED ELI. No? You should! It's a nice name! Nothing wrong with that! That's why I chose it too! I didn't specifically name this character this way for plot reasons but my improv style of writing made his name this convoluted! LMAO

I remember throwing this in because I forgot what the titular Bizarre Love Triangle is referring to. I always looked at this line like "uhhghghhh I'm going to have to change that one day, , , ,"

The three lovers in the Bizarre Love Triangle in chapter 3 is Iro, Eli, Louisa and Aaron. (four people)

but Louisa and Aaron are both on the same side of the triangle and pointing Iro towards Eli.

FUN FACT: The art in the 2025 edit was actually the original drawing for that panel LMAO I unearthed it. It found new life. Thank you, past me for doing all the work. It was even colored! WOW.

I never really stopped working on my comic

I drew a heck ton of pages during this scene with Iro and Louisa

but for one reason or another I just really hated my art and/or writing

during this time, , , ,

I would sometimes get very far before I realized that I didn't like where it was going.

and instead of trying to salvage any part of the page I would just scrap it instead.

I really like the art on this page but not the text

@_@ so I scrapped it ALL?! AH?! My head doesn't work!!

I'm trying to figure out what changed between my earlier pages(more frequent updates and these pages(updates that are months and years apart) and I think, , , I just cared less about how the art/paneling looked and the story was more about pushing out SO MUCH RANDOM new info rather than calling back to stuff that has already been said/shown.
