why not to use project elvhen
because the other two posts were a bit cluttered, hereâs a compilation of reasons why not to support fenxshiral and not to use project elvhen in your work:
fenxshiral intentionally wrote elvhen to be ace/arophobic. the word in his project for aromanticism is equivalent to the word for psychopath. any attempts at disputing his justification for that are just met with him saying itâs his headcanon/him calling people countering him âdramaâ.
â In terms of aromanticism, this is a concept that would be very hard to parse in Elvhen, because the language revolves around poetry, thought, emotion and only speaking when you mean what you say. Not being able to feel love would be a concept very foreign to the vast majority of Elves â <- he thinks elves are too â~~poetic and romantic~~â to accept people who âare unable to feel loveâ, which is a really poor definition of aromanticism, as it implies they canât feel ANY love, and must be incapable of a romantic relationship, rather than just not wanting it. It also doesnât make sense that elves would shun people who can be close to others without feeling romantically for them, because Dirthamen and FalonâDin are a thing.
â The sad reality, is that the vast majority of Elves, both in Elvhenan and in the Dalish, would most likely look upon aromanticism as a mental disorder. Emotion is such a strong centerpiece of the language, that being unable to feel any emotion would be viewed as just plain wrong by a vast majority of elves. â
Assumes that the Dalish wouldnât have a renaissance like the elvhen had, assuming that heteronormativity/gender binaries/etc. are the starting point for all cultures and the Dalish must be at that point because âdragon age cultures are close-mindedâ. Even though, canonically, sexuality in thedas is shown to not be a huge deal, and relationships which are still commonly hated today are readily accepted/common in-universe. Kind of rings like he views nomadic peoples as primitive imo, which - considering heâs white - is a red flag.
Does not believe that thinking someone is broken because of their sexuality and trying to fix them is a form of hate. (Even though Dorianâs entire plotline is about his dad thinking heâs broken and trying to fix him and how intention doesnât compensate for action.)
Treats Lesbians/Gay people wanting homosexual-specific terminology like a burden he was worn down by, because itâs really really important to him that elves not have words for homosexuality, apparently.
âhomosexuality is accepted through every culture in thedas (except nobility who use marriage to promote specific family lines) but the dalish would hate gay people because everyone knows gays canât have kids.â Invents reasons why the dalish wouldnt support gay marriage - which, jokeâs on him, with the whole sera/inq marriage lmao.
â With that said, in clans that valued marriage, it would be a construct used to facilitate children in addition to the bond between the two partners. Its value wouldnât be the concept of marriage itself, so homosexual marriages would not carry the same kind of weight, and would most likely not be allowed, except in polygamous/polyamorous marriages (in clans that allowed such unions, of course).â literally when has dalish marriage ever been about kids. ever. when is this shown ever and why is he using it to justify them abolishing gay marriage.

Just, wow. like, iâm a 21 year old lesbian and even i wonât have sex with teenagers because imo itâs predatory. they might be legal but theyâre still very young women, and them crossin some imaginary number threshold donât make it less wrong to be a full grown near middle-age adult male jackin off to high schoolers.
Heâs got a âteacher/masterâ kink. Considering heâs into high school/college freshman-aged women, and has reblogged pictures of âteen lesbiansâ ⌠yikes.
Thinks asexuals who at all want sex are not asexual. he clarifies that he âtotally meant asexuals who feel sexual attraction arent aceâ when called out. which, yknow, still aint quite right.
this isnât even getting into the fact heâs known to ignore canon because he thinks he can write elves/elven culture better than bioware, like this is just from two searches on his blog - there could be way more.
 it should be noted that he identifies as bi/pan, but that doesnât excuse his blatant homophobia, his weird fetishism of very young girls/his followers, or his attempts at making a nomadic culture intolerant and hateful because they arenât âmodern enoughâ to have values that are not traditionally Western ideals of heteronormativity/gender/etc.
all in all heâs got some major personal issues, on top of just being kind of a creepy guy, and iâd really advise against promoting him by using his work. parsing the wiki sucks, but iâd rather do that than let this guyâs stuff within a hundred feet of anything i write.
letâs not forget casual ableism in the way he replies to followers who ask simple questions
