Thereās a small laugh at her only answer, and if she thought it was sarcasm then he doesnāt correct her. It wasnāt, but anything more than that is too sincere. And thereās no desire to lead her on, to make her think he wants this to go any farther than it already did. At some point he realized he liked having her as a friend, and itās no mystery at what point he decided he liked fucking her. Anything more complicated seems like it would just ruin both.
"Alright, but you should probably shut the door first." His head tilts, following the direction of his words as though the thought alone will summon his warden. And while sheās not breathing down his neck, he thinks a shut door would probably draw her more than an open one, and thatās raised too many teenagers to hesitate on barging right in. It effectively crushes any real contemplation of trying to earn himself a repeat of that night.
He sits back, finishing the rest of his piece before wiping his hands off on his jeans. Though thereās an odd sort of pride there, that he has more of an appetite now than he did when he met her. It makes it easier to remind himself how hollowed out heād become, to convince himself itās not worth it just for a quick fix.
It tastes like less of a lie today. If itās partially due to her presence, he doesnāt protest it. Itās still better to convince himself of that, that heās more human and more worthwhile than when heās high.
"Thatās disgusting. Also a waste of pizza." He makes a face at her before heās swinging his legs off the bed, holding up the movie she tossed at him as he heads for the TV. Itās small and used, but itās still another thing that belongs to him, which probably says something. "You know thereās no robots in Commando, right?"
Charlie laughs lightly, but she has no intention of getting off this bed to shut the door and there's numerous reasons for it, mostly stemming from the fact Eileen would probably bite her head clean off her neck if she did. "Oh well," Charlie sighs mockingly, taking another bite of her pizza before she's speaking through the mouthful, "Looks like it's just secret handys under the blanket then."
The joke makes her laugh quietly, mostly because she has no intention of the sort. And while she might muse that it would probably only aid his rehabilitation process, she also isn't quite so sure she's been very helpful to him. But how to handle a situation like this, Charlie couldn't fathom. She'd never been thrust into it before. Still, there's a desire to help Eli as best she can, and if her loyalty is too rapidly earned, it isn't something that's ever hurt her in the past. Maybe he'd be the first. She's too selfish to not take any relapse personally.
"So?" Charlie counters before waving the pizza crust in Eli's direction, "It has a high body count and some of the best lines in movie history. Also Arnie petting a deer. There's really no reason to watch this." She pauses for a moment as if lost in thought, determined to find more proof to the film that Eli is already setting up for them, even if he's complaining. "Besides, it's my favorite so shut up."
