Captain Marvel (2019), dir. Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck
“[…] their bond and their relationship as mentor and mentee, pupil and sensei, and how they met and what they offer to each other is very much at the heart of the film and the journey that Brie’s character goes on. […] The relationship really is about containment. There’s a sort of control to my character, there’s a sense of focus and clarity and discipline, and really that’s one of the things I think of the piece, is trying to contain and what is being in control and what isn’t.”— Jude Law

My Yon/Verse collages
[Song: Never by Us]
@garnetvengeance gave me the most incredible gift when I saw her the other day: a handbound copy of my Captain Marvel yonvers series Bury a Friend ❤️
I actually didn't catch on at first to how perfect the fabric choice was (it's Carol's eight pointed star!!!) because I was distracted by the ribbon bookmark which is so cute. I've never had any of my fics handbound before and it's so exciting to have a physical copy to put on my shelf snuggled up with the rest of the books. That it is a physical item that's a result of both my time and love, and the time and love my dear friend put into it to craft it, makes it priceless to me. And now I get to sit and reread it in style whenever I have the impulse, because yes of course I wrote this dirty thing for myself. This book looks so classy and within its covers lurks smut.
Happy International Women's Day to all my fellow Yonvers shippers who identify as female or female-adjacent!

I mean I know a certain level of projection on fictional characters and situations is inevitable and even healthy, but sometimes you got to step back into the real world to remind yourself that Character X is not your shitty parent/abusive ex/asshole boss/bully from high school, and that people who like Character X are not personally victimizing you.
