I didn’t get this record when it came out because I was a kid. On a re-listen in my early 20s I now realise it is actually one of the best things I’ve ever heard and simply did not have the life experiences to understand it yet.

Growing up, Grief, and Gerard Way:
Music follows us throughout our lives, every emotion, memory, and landmark moment that we have can often be summed up by a single song or record that happened to capture the exact feeling we never thought another human could replicate.
The past two weeks have seen My Chemical Romance grace three cities across the UK for a theatrical celebration of their iconic 2006 record ‘The Black Parade’ and B-Stage set lists which pay homage to the fans who have hung onto ever word for over two decades.
What this run showed is the power of reinvention, the strength in finding joy again, and that the want to relate and the need to experience the feeling of knowing and understanding from others is more prevalent than ever.

last night at MCR (yes I was there for THAT insane b-stage that ended with demo lovers) at the end of the black parade portion the clown hovered around mikey for A WHILE to the point where I genuinely thought they were about to do the whole end routine but with Mikey getting killed instead of Gerard and while that did not happen I would love to see it because think about the angst of it all
when I bought mcr wembley tickets I thought I signed up to join the black parade, turns out they’re sending me to fucking battery city
there is a needle drop at the end of Supergirl that, and I can’t stress this enough, is straight out of a dramatic reality tv moment.

The phrase ‘the show must go on’ is not just theatre speak but is a valued practice in a taxing but rewarding industry.
Legally Blonde The Musical has been beloved since Laura Bell Bundy first put on a pair of pink heels and Christian Borle uttered the words “Little Miss Woods Comma Elle.”
This truly means to take up the mantle of Elle Woods is no mean feat, so why do the women on stage have to be put in constant competition from the media instead of being uplifted?

The UK national tour of Legally Blonde is an example of misunderstanding and the problems with tabloid journalism
With Markiplier, he has been able to make such a fun and quite groundbreaking project with his team through the fact that people understand him as a creator. Through what they’ve seen of his work ethic and what he has produced over the years already, he has given people faith that he has made this film out of a love for the original game, passion, and a creative desire.
To me it feels like a great example of how being a content creator in the here and now can inspire something which exceeds any personal expectations and especially expectations from big name studios who haven’t seen something like this before and have reportedly been shifting to a focus on ‘second screen viewing’.
The heights the theatrical release have reached are outstanding for an independent film made by someone from outside the industry and it’s quite lovely that the avenues he’s taken throughout his career have led him here.
This is a snippet from my blog post about Iron Lung and creativity in modern content creation, I’d really appreciate the reads and I’d love to know what others thought of the film too!
The success of Markiplier's bold independent film shows that creating online is about much more than just pleasing an algorithm.
On Friday I saw Iron Lung and it sparked a thought on content creators in the modern age and what it means to follow a creative desire.
In the case of the ‘Iron Lung’ film it was born from a let’s play, quite like Mark’s career itself which is poetic when you think about it.
Markiplier played the game, contacted David Szymanski, and the rest is history. Now that is an incredibly simplified explanation which skips over the immense amounts of time and energy put in by the team behind this film but it helps you get the idea that maybe it wasn’t the most conventional way of starting the filmmaking process.
