we got some new cats, two brothers named William and Joe. I call William 'Sweet William' and joe is jojo joey joseph of course

we lost satchel and nana over the past year. he died suddenly in late october, i think the 20th. i'm working at a queer focused clinic that is like, i dont know how i did it but i landed my dream job p much. i was able to suddenly leave, took the next day off too. he was starting to lose weight, his kidney disease was really starting to impact him so it was his time. 19 years old. nana was with us till valentines day. since she made it to 2025, we are saying she made it to 20. don't know when their bday was. her kidney disease was also setting in, but really she was just slowing down. really stopped eating but she was excited to get nice stuff. she started laying in pet beds, and on her final day sat in my lap for hours, her final gift to me. putting her down was very hard, my vet cried with us and they sent me flowers the next week. i need to pick up a frame to put them in, i dried them. i have her ashes on my desk and I have a bottle that i intend on mixing their ashes together in, so they can be together again. that stretch was the only time they lived separate from each other. she was there for it and didnt search for him after, she stuck close to us. she was deaf, and started going blind. it was such an honor to keep cats to such an old age and it hurts so much not waking up to having them with us.
