Their department, already under a lot of pressure to produce results, along with the government threatening to axe the department altogether despite whatever they may find, pushes Skyfire to make a choice that would alter both of their lives.

Hoping to just finish updating this fic on Friday. I should also be able to upload the epilogue as well so a double posting! Just depends if I can get a good chunk of editing done today and tomorrow 🫡

I said I would deliver on skystar yuri and I meant it. Sneak peek of a new fic I'll be posting in a couple of hours after I go to sleep 👭 or maybe later if I continue to stay up.

I know it's not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I was at a standstill for what to do.

I kind of explained why but the short of it is that if I'm feeling like a work is going to be longer than I originally planned, I'll just wait on posting until I've got a good chunk done.

It's just how I like to approach my writing and fics. I get nervous about adding more chapters for work I've marked as complete. As a reader, I love when authors add more content even if they've completed a work. I'll jump with joy every time and reread everything, AND have so much patience for updates.

As a fic writer, I do not give myself the same grace 😅 it doesn't make sense, I know. A little harsh and unrealistic? probably.

So thank you. It was the easiest way to take a step back and assess what I was doing. And while anonymous, I do appreciate people taking some time to answer and participating!

Side note: I mentioned ellipsus for one of the options and it's not a site I tend to visit except for like one fic I'm following. I do have some drafts there but nothing posted. Is that a site being used by anyone who reads my stuff? I haven't felt inclined to post there yet. I am curious if it's more accessible or easier to read on there compared to ao3 and if I should be posting there as well? Thoughts?

I like it as a one-shot and how it ended between Starscream and Skyfire. It's a bittersweet ending because, yeah, they shared a mating cycle and it was great, but there's not really a guarantee of things being better between them. Part of why I really liked writing it was because I knew that it wasn't going to work out perfectly between them despite how soft they acted.

But I've also been thinking of writing more from that universe, like when Starscreams mating cycle happens. I'm just torn between adding more chapters, making a seperate fic and have it be like a pt.2, saying it's like an au where they keep meeting up, or just leave it alone and post it somewhere else?

I just really like that fic on its own. I like the unknown of that ending. But I also want to explore more of that world 😭 and the end goal if I do write a sort of sequel would most likely be Skyfire expecting their first sparkling. They would both be unsure of what awaited them but there's a hope that they'll make it work. It'd be a far happier ending compared to SQSS.

I'm struggling here 😭

I asked on Ao3, but I also wanted to ask here. You don't have to answer all 3 questions if you don't want to. Answering one or two is also fine and still helps me out a lot 😊 this is in regards to all my work but if you'd like to point to a certain fic, I'm all ears too!

What can I improve on? (For example, being more descriptive, avoiding repetition, longer or shorter fics, more dialogue, phrases seem awkward or unclear, inconsistent storyline, author notes, etc. There's a lot more but I'm struggling to think rn)

What would you like to see from me? (There are topics I do not feel comfortable writing but am curious if there's prompts or requests you'd like to see me write. And it doesn't have to be skystar either. It could also be other pairings, though I make no promises I can get to them or that they'll be a priority 😔)

What do you like from my writing? (I'm leaving this incredibly open-ended.)

I do try to self reflect on the direction I'd like to take my writing every so often and have my own answers for the questions above. I can also acknowledge that I might have a narrow view and, therefore, might overlook some flaws or ways I can improve.

Please don't be afraid to comment or if you'd like to send it anonymously through my asks, over messages, on ao3, wherever you're more comfortable or able to, you're more than welcome to do so. There's no right answer here. Honestly, I appreciate any feedback and it also helps me be less shy about sharing my stuff. And of course, be a better writer too 😂 I almost forgot that part.
