My friend Wesal (@deemagaza) doesn't speak English. The only way she can find her way around the English internet is by using Google Translate or ask others like me for help. It is very difficult for her.
Yet she has no choice but to do so for her daughter Farah, almost sixteen now, who is autistic and has a kidney problem that - without treatment - makes her deficient in potassium, which, if it becomes too severe, can lead to cardiac arrest.
^ Farah spends most of her days like this now, feeling uncomfortable in her body, but not understanding why.
Farah's medication has become unavailable in Gaza, which has endangered her life and means she has to be treated in the hospital, which is costly and where they are running out of resources as well. Farah's case has now been referred to the WHO to be transferred abroad. If the opportunity for evacuation arises, we must make sure the funds are available!

I often wish there were more stories featuring characters who realize they are trans midway through the story but I feel like inevitably you would have people lamenting how this "takes away feminine guy/masculing girl representation" because they got used to thinking the character was cis because that was how the story initially presented them.
I feel some people haven't really processed that a lot of closeted trans people were considered "feminine men" and "masculine women" before realizing they were trans. It's normal. It's not "taking away representation", it's a common reality.
It's just as dumb as saying that a feminine man realizing he's gay is "taking away rep for feminine gay men". It's just as dumb as saying that feminine straight men are more progressive than feminine gay men.

Like, I understand the sentiment but 9 times out of 10 I hear this sort of stuff from people who do not include indigenous rights in their activism, and rather depend on violent slogans to rid themselves of responsibility to their community, as if they’d prefer to have a pissing contest over who can hate America the most instead of, like… work on restoring land rights to Native Americans or engage with their real life communities.
The American government is a genocidal machine built upon the deaths of millions of Black and Brown people, both in America and oversees, but white people on tumblr would rather joke about burning it all to the ground instead of talk to the people whose land it belongs to and actively work on involving them in their activism.

Terfs after they get butch women kicked out of womens bathrooms for looking too much like a man, call cis women men because they don't fit a white western beauty standard, say people who've had mastectomies (which are mostly cancer patients) are mutilated, reduce women down to their anatomy, act like trans men are clueless little girls who can't think for themselves, say women are naturally worse at sports and quiz shows and beauty pageants than men, flash a fake bush in parliament with children present, rile up so much bullshit about trans athletes that now there's laws being made where little girls have to have genital inspections, and throw intersex people under the bus at every opportunity
