i've been on a hiatus from writing my sci-fi novel and it's been really weird because my brain is still worldbuilding even when i'm not actively trying to. i was looking at some concept art the other day and it got me thinking about the implications of faster than light travel on the social structures of my fictional universe. it's crazy how much science can inform speculative fiction but also how much it can limit it. sometimes i feel like i'm more interested in the questions than the answers. what if the technology to travel to other galaxies exists but it's only accessible to a select few? what kind of society would that create?

i'm literally going to freak out because i just found out about this book tag challenge thing where you have to read a certain number of books in a set amount of time and i am SO down for it i love reading and the thought of having an excuse to devour even more books is just incredible i've already started making a list of all the books i want to read and i'm getting a little overwhelmed but in the best way possible my brain is racing with all the possibilities and i just know i'm going to discover some new favorite authors and books and honestly i just can't wait to get started
