Someone who expects you to hate your own country is the same as someone who expects you to hate yourself. They are not and will never be your friend and they do not have the duality of thought that is required to support you through the larger struggles of your life. They also likely have hate in their heart for your average citizen and are effectively the same as the right wing powers in power. You are allowed community with your fellow country person and I believe you should as a matter of joyful collectivism and joy in spite of the evils that exist.
