Nancy talks about finally getting to go to Emerson and asks Robin about whether she’s ever thought of leaving Hawkins.

Robin tells Nancy that she has and starts talking about operation croissant and how she planned a trip to Paris in highschool, but never actually ended up going. She talks about how silly it was in retrospect and brings up the fact that she was planning to do it all with Tammy Thompson to really emphasize how goofy of a plan it was.

“Robin?”

“Hi. Uh can you maybe put the gun down now?”

“Sorry. What are you doing here, in the middle of the night?”

“I was bored and couldn’t sleep.”

“So you decided to almost get shot, out of boredom?”

“Not my intention, but I’d rather go by your hand than the alternative. You really sleep with a gun under your pillow? Isn’t that dangerous? I mean yes, it’s dangerous, but you know what you’re doing, you always do, and that’s cool, but still very dangerous, and -“

“Robin.”

“you could’ve really shot me, oh my goodness, what was I thinking? You know I wasn’t really thinking when I climbed up here, and that’s dumb on my part, I should’ve known bet-“

“Robin!”

“-ter. Sorry.”

“Why didn’t you just go to Steve’s?”

“Eddie.”

“Right.”

“So…”

“So…”

“I should g-“

“You climbed up to my window, and snuck into my room, might as well stay now.”

“Cool. Thanks.”

“Can I ask why you’re not at home?”

“Too many nightmares, and way too many questions from my parents. Usually, I spend the night at Steve’s, but I think I’ll have way worse nightmares from having to see Steve and Eddie be all cutesy.”

“You can say that again.”

“Are you, and Steve, you and Jonathan… okay?”

“Oh no. No. We’re good. Steve told me himself that he was dating Eddie. I think Eddie’s good for him. Jonathan and I, well, I think we’ll be okay. It’s just…”

“You wish you could be cutesy with someone who’s right for you.”

“Yeah. You too?”

“Oh yeah.”

“Anyone particular comes to mind?”

That’s when things get quiet and a little tense, as Robin slowly turns to look at Nancy.

“There’s someone in mind. You?”

Nancy slowly looks at Robin.

“I think so. Yeah.”
