Considering the lead into this episode was Robert telling Aaron and Vic "there's so much I haven't told you about my time there [prison] that'll help you understand...it's time I told you everything" the only new information he gave them (and us) was he moved back to Hotten in 2020 and Faith came to visit him...that's very underwhelming
I'm convinced there must be more to Robert's prison storyline that they're not telling us yet because:

"And it was all a dream" is how I used to finish stories when I was in primary school and it's entirely lazy, childish writing
You're telling me that the professional writers couldn't come up with a more poignant special episode for a teenager who's found herself caught up in drugs, prostitution and murder after also recently surviving through homelessness, teen pregnancy and still birth
I would have preferred no special episode for April over that, it doesn't give me hope that the storylines for the remaining special episodes will be all that good or important
When the Robron reunion you've been waiting 6 years for happens unexpectedly on a random Wednesday, the countdown for breakup no.57038372 is already on, the BIG reunion™ is on the horizon, the return of psycho husband John is inevitable and mafia husband Kev is looming ominously in the background
When I said the friend era would be short, I didn't think it would be that short
And what if I said Robert is deliberately playing up to type - talking about the money, about how he’s using Kev too - to divert from just how terrified and not in control he actually is. What if it’s easier for people to think good old 2015 Robert is back than it is for them to know the true extent of what he went through and what he’s still dealing with.
And what if - and this is where the real wishful thinking comes in - what if after the initial anger from Aaron (because he will be rightfully angry and hurt) all it takes is him witnessing one interaction between Robert and Kev, how Robert is afterwards, for Aaron to see right through it all. To see how desperate Robert was, how scared he was and still is. Because Aaron went through it too. He understands what it must have been like. And he knows Robert, he knows him better than anyone. And that’s enough to get Robert to truly open up.
And after that they’re in it together (forever).

Robert burned £100,000 to prove his love for Aaron. There’s no way he’s jeopardising a chance at a future with Aaron merely to inherit Kev’s money — that cannot be the real reason. Presumably, it’s the story Robert tells himself to rationalise staying married.

For all the media illiterates in the back that means Kev bribed Robert into a "relationship/marriage" with the promise of protection and the implied 'or else' there is if you don't marry and satisfy me I won't help you and you'll continue to be beaten to near death and left begging for your life...that is coerced consent, that is abuse
So no Robert and Kev are not "hot" or "in love" or "in a relationship" or "companions" or whatever else
As for everyone complaining about wanting a prison PTSD storyline, this is very much that just give it a second to develop
There's far to many people in this tag talking about Robert's schemes and Robert does anything for money etc.
You know this isn't for money, right? You know that's just an easy excuse to fall back on, right? You know he's deeply traumatised, right? You know he's afraid, right? You know he thinks he owes Kev his life, right? You know he's been coerced into this, right?
Fully prepared for everyone, Aaron especially, to be all Robert is a disgusting evil schemey bastard until they spot Robert and Kev together and realise something is very very wrong

When you're planning a date with your boyfriend but your husband won't leave you alone
I’ve seen people say that Kev used Robert for sexual favours in exchange for protection. “Sleep with me and I’ll make sure you’re safe” kind of ‘deal’ and I FEAR that’s where it’s heading. Kev said to Robert in the preview ‘distract me’ and kinda moved in towards him and maybe Robert got use to ‘distracting him’ (ie sex) Maybe Kev became obsessed with Robert and used protecting Robert as a form of manipulation/coercion. I saw some people say Kev could be the type to snap and get really angry if Robert doesn’t go along with him and therefore he just goes along with it which would explain Robert trying to get Victoria to go along with him.
