This fic was prompted by @algandarsplaguepositive, as Lucian/Larks, “You always this quiet?”.

The knight smiled, bright and pretty in a way that made Aphelion’s human heart stutter in its rhythm. “I’m Salute,” they—he, based on voice and body shape—said, holding out a hand to shake. “First Knight.”

“Lucian,” Aphelion managed to get out around their body’s increasing attraction to the knight; First Knight was not a position one earnt through privilege.

The knight—Salute's—eyes widened. “You’re Lord Hewitt’s son! I’ve heard all about you!”

Aphelion bit back a scoff. Barely; there was no way this human could know anything about their current persona, given they’d only existed for a week.

“Well,” Salute corrected with a flush and a duck of his head, “I’ve heard all about your father, really. Which…isn’t the same thing at all, sorry. I hope I didn’t offend you?”

Aphelion shook their head; given they were the same person, it would be daft to get offended by someone making assumptions about who they were, based on a previous persona.

Salute laughed, the sound sending a pleasant shudder down Aphelion’s spine. “You’re quiet,” he observed. “Shy?”

If you type, write, draw, game, or generally use your hands a lot (especially if you’re prone to RSI or Carpal Tunnel!) try these stretches as both a preventative measure, and on the spot relief. Take care of yourself and your body, friends!

Start with hands up, fingers stretched out.  Stretch your thumb as far as you can over your palm. Hold and repeat 4 times.

Touch each finger to your thumb. Hold each for 30 seconds. Repeat on each hand 4 times.

Start with a fist. Open half way, hold for 2 seconds. Stretch fingers out, hold for 2 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

Start with one arm out, palm up. Pull your fingers back with your other hand. Hold for 10 seconds. Do the same with your other hand. Repeat 4 times

A little ficlet for the best bro in the world @robancrow. I wanted to conjure up something more extravagant for your birthday but work has been bananas and it’s been hard to find the time to get creative. Regardless, I hope this gift shows that I’m thinking of you on your birthday and wishing you happiness on this day. Happy Birthday, bro! I’m happy to have been bros for over 10 years and I hope for many more. Here’s something sorta LucianxLarks.

He’s a mystery to me. Ever since the day I laid eyes on Lord Lucian, there was something about him that was off. He’s polite, his demeanour is calm, he seems to have a reasonable head on his shoulders—nothing out of the ordinary. He’s obviously well-fit for his job as an advisor and yet… he is very strange.

He’s a quiet man; very soft-spoken. The gentle hum of his voice is enough to let one’s guard down. When I’m in his presence, I can feel my muscles relax, my knees weaken and the troubles of the world melt away. It’s almost unnatural how soothing he is.

When having meetings with him, I’ll often ask for his advice on dealing with the fairy creatures. I know tensions are high and are only getting higher and yet he assures me, “Things will work out in time, Lord Larks. Have patience and trust me.” He says this every time, without fail. His reassurance is mesmerising and yet fills me with doubt.

I can feel the gravity of the situations around me. I know things will be reaching a boiling point very soon but whenever he enters my office, I’m overcome with an odd sense of peace. He reassures me that the pieces are in line and will fall into place accordingly when the time comes but I don’t know what he means by that. As calm as he is, I can’t help but have more questions after talking to him than beforehand.
