Wow, so my "break" ended up being so much longer then I had anticipated...I've missed it here! So here's what's been going on: I finally finished my degree so reading is back on!!! To kick this off I have been re-reading the Outlander series and re-watching the show. Also, just a couple days ago I had to say goodbye to my fur babe who you see in many of my posts. It has been devastating and I feel at such a loss.
Needing some balance
Work, homework, sleep...work, homework, sleep...and it keeps repeating
I just want time to read
Diving into Outlander.Â
I LOVE these books! So excited for the next one! This makes me want to re-read these â¤ď¸

I Almost Forgot About You Review
I Almost Forgot About You by Terry McMillan
This book is a great casual summer read! Â It has good flow and moves along nicely. Â There are no tense, shocking, or outrageous plot twists, which makes it perfect to read while taking a few minutes to unwind from the day or to sit outside and read. Â The story has a great message to, you are never to old to change your life! Â
Georgia is not happy with her life, itâs not that she is unhappy, its just that she is bored and needs to make some changes. Â She is divorced, her kids are grown and moved out...and there she is, alone in a big empty house, in a career she is bored with and needing something new and exciting. Â And here is the best part...instead of just complaining about it, or jumping too fast into changes without any thought...she changes her life. Â Through the process she discovers that she may not need to change everything about her life, but she makes changes where she needs them finding the adventure she was craving, along with love, happiness, and laughter.

Taking a break
Yay! Iâve made it all the way to P in my Alphabet Book Reviews!
Now, I am going to take a small break from it. Â I have a few books I have been wanting to read and classes are going to be starting again in just a few more weeks, so I am going to take a small break from these alphabet book reviews I have been doing since March, and read some of my TBR that keeps piling up since they have not fit in alphabet where I have needed them to :)
Sorry to any of you who have noticed my absence of posts for the past few weeks, but I have been busy working and working on my a little backyard project. Â Still have some more work to do laying down and staining a few more pallets, but I wanted to share my progress so far. Â I did not really know how this would turn out of if I would even like it, but so far I am loving my pallet deck :) and the best part is the only money Iâve spent on it, is for the stain and mulch! The pallets, blood, sweat, and tan were all free! Â
Hoping to be finishing up and back to reading and blogging soon!

Sorry, not book related...but I did get some reading in during a relaxing weekend at the beach.
Old Magic
Alphabet Book Review
Old Magic by Marianne Curley
248 pages
As with the last few books that I have read, this is a quick, light read and moves along well. Â The story was good, but I feel that it could have been much more in depth to make it longer, and perhaps have the potential to be a series.
Kate is intrigued by Jarrod, but Jarrod finds Kate to be slightly odd. Â
Kate is a witch, her grandmother is a witch, and while Kateâs mom and dad are mentioned frequently, we know nothing about them aside from the fact her father is unknown and her mother abandoned her (this is a part that could have been more in depth). Â Jarrod is new in town, and he and his family have been through more than their fair share of bad luck. Â They move around a lot, so all Jarrod really wants is to fit in. Â
Up Next...P: Â To be determined...looking for suggestions!

Alphabet Book Reviews
November 9 by Colleen Hoover
249 pages
This is the first book by Colleen Hoover that I have read, seeing her books in posts all over in my Tumblr feed made me want to read one, and so when I needed a book that began with N, I chose November 9.
Boy meets girl, girl is moving across the country tomorrow. Â So, Fallon and Ben decide to meet at the same place, at the same time, on the same day next year and the year after, and the year after, totaling 5 years when they will both be 23 and will (theoretically) know themselves. Â The story is told from each of their point of views, but is also only told on November 9th. Â Through thoughts and conversation, you hear what they have been up to for the past year, but just as they only meet on November the 9th, we are only told the story on November 9th.
This is a great book to read on a short road trip, or a day at the beach, nothing heavy, the story stays pretty light. Â It is just a love story about two people who have to decide if tragedy, distance, and time is something their love can overcome.
Up Next O: To be determined, I am still looking :)

I Take You Review
I Take You by Eliza Kennedy
I have mixed feelings about this book. Â On one hand I found parts of it hilarious, and on the other hand, I found parts of it appalling and far fetched.
It was great to read about a character who is unapologetically herself, who stands up for herself, and (mostly) knows what she wants. Â As long as you do not take things too seriously, and can enjoy the book for what it is: a quick read to pass the time and entertain yourself, it is enjoyable to read.
I personally cannot relate to Lily and her behavior at all. Â The book starts at Lily's bachelorette party and by the end of the night when she gets home to her fiance, she has already made out with a random guy and had sex with her boss. Â But, just because I cannot relate to Lily (and find a lot of her behavior distasteful), does not mean that I could not just sit back and enjoy the ride as I read the book.
The book made me actually laugh out loud while reading it.  Aside from trying to decide if she really loved Will and wanted to marry him, Lily knows what she wants.  I liked how Lily was not ashamed of herself and allowed herself to be who she was without judgement.  If you can get past Lily's inability to be monogamous, it is a witty, funny book about a woman who is not afraid to love sex. Â
Lily says it best, "I like all sorts of men. Â And I will continue to like them, and sleep with them--or not like them, and not sleep with them--based on my preferences, and not the preferences of presumptuous, narrow-minded people like you."

All I want this morning is to enjoy my coffee, finish reading I Take You and write my review for it...instead, I am guzzling my coffee and heading out to (push) mow my yard...guess reading and relaxing will have to wait until this afternoon.
