A guy named William Addis invented what you know as a toothbrush. In June of 1780, the first mass produced toothbrush was rolled out…in a small town called Clerkenwell, England. National Trails Day (6/6) I’m at a fork in the road on what to share for this special day. Which dad joke? My dog would have been great back in the old west trail days.Her tail is a wagon. Or this one? As I get older, I think a lot about the people I’ve lost over the years.Maybe a trail guide was not a good career path for me.

In June 1888, there was a company in Philadelphia called MUM. They introduced the first commercial consumer deodorant. Their slogan was “Mum’s the Word” and targeted at women.Currently many people buy odorless deodorant. That makes no scents. But then again, so do many other things in Philly.

National Say Something Nice Day (6/1) You can be many things in life…today be kind.An example: I got a compliment when boarding a train. The conductor said: “first class rear, standard front.” You’ll be on the right track by saying nice things.

National Smile Day (5/31) A friend went on a blind date. The woman’s on-line profile said she had an infectious smile.Turns out that infectious smile was cold sores. Today…give people a genuine smile. Share it like a disease.

National Water a Flower Day (5/30) While out watering my flowers, I saw a person stealing a garden ornament from my neighbor’s yard. He didn’t call the cops…he wishes to remain Gnomeless.

“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing” Thank Socrates for that and I guess thank those brown cows for this cup of knowledge: 7% of American adults believe chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Are these the same people…who stare at a glass of orange juice because the carton says concentrate?

National Hamburger Day (5/28)(some will say it’s National Burger Day…well okay)How do you like yours? Recent data say most like “well done”. “What is once well done is done forever.”Thank Henry David Thoreau for the ” cookout” quip. Don’t forget the cold beer, and add a pickle.  It’s usually a big dill.

The surprise is lawn owners don’t (really) have a problem with it…or do they?
