Riverdale Review

we’ve been thinking... the gargoyle king has been many people already. most recently we’ve seen both tall boy and moose’s father revealed to be underneath the gargoyle king mask.  additionally, other characters have been seen wearing the mask or something similar throughout the years (even betty plays a modified gargoyle king to save the girls being poisoned). what if no one in particular is behind the gargoyle king? what if it is just something people have conveniently used over the years to manipulate people? this whole season we’ve been hoping for a “reveal” like with the black hood, but what if there really isn’t a reveal to be had? 

we’ve been away for awhile, but we are back with new riverdale theories and musings. episodes 9, 10, 11, and 12 are covered -- join us! 

cheryl has been awfully quiet this season. sure she has stirred a bit of drama here and there but we all know she has to be planning something much bigger. could the drawing and gifts for josie be part of a larger plan? she has been slowly nudging her way into the pussy cat clan for awhile now and appears to be trying to take josie down. is this to get leverage over josie’s mom, the mayor? is that the same reason she tried to turn kevin against betty in the beginning of the season? to get some sort of angle in on the sheriff... there’s got to be more method to her madness. i don’t think she’s the black hood but she does seem out to get something big

we are back discussing episode 7! including a theory about penny peabody, what the reckoning will entail, and cheryl’s latest shenanigans

can we talk about ethel muggs? she is one of the few people who would have known that betty has a dark side (i.e. the hot tub scene in season 1). she also has been around since childhood (i.e. the nancy drew books). she often gets bullied so would have no problem going against the popular kids (i.e. shooting moose and midge). she’s not close enough to archie to care about shooting his dad. also, betty has always been incredibly nice to her and she likely sees betty as an ally. finally, they keep her at just enough of a distance that you’d never see her coming.
