digital circus finale was good. I liked the part where Jax looked straight into the camera and said "I am a transgender woman."

βI Can Fix Itβ
Artist: Justin Novak πͺ‘
Some last minute birthday pictures. Iβm soo not used to being in front of a legitimate camera lol, Iβve gotten used to phone cameras.
I hope the nervous awkwardness isnβt apparent in my faceπ¬
With a heavy heart, I come to you all with the news announced by close friends of Cat Frazier that she had passed away on Monday, June 29.
She had been running @animatedtext since 2012, with her impact on the internet SHAPING tumblr. If you have a years long history on this site, youβve seen her art.
She ran a venue in Oakland called Oakland Secret, a punk venue where Iβd vend at regularly as an artist. She made a safe space for queer artists, artists of color, and local furs too. I am forever grateful for her work both in the Bay Area creative scene and online, and am forever changed by the totality of her impact.
Iβll be linking some articles from the 2010βs about her impact online: The Fader | Action | Jezebel | ObviouslySocial
I invite you to take a visit through her archive, and if you have a long history with this site like I do, itβs like walking down memory lane. (open link in browser)

(emerges 3 hours later covered in blood) i figured out what emotion i was feeling
It was like the sun came out from behind the clouds...
[girl in a low cut top voice] i just dont know what it is but everyone is being sooo nice to me todayβ¦.[grows grave and guarded] theyβre conspiring against my reign and they think me a fool
Hamlet adaptation where Hamlet is a vlogger and all his soliloquies are breakdowns he uploads to YouTube
β¦ I am unironically here for this
this is the funniest thing Iβve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, heβs stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, theyβre still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but theyβre still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewerβs lived experience. Theyβre still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And itβs beautiful. Itβs beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because heβs presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.
A post about this went round recently, and Iβm delighted to announce sheβs since come out as trans and goes by Jasmine π³οΈββ§οΈ

transitioning was easily the best decision I've ever made, you should try it.
if you can read this, you're trans. you should try transitioning!
you don't have to live with that weight on your shoulders and that fog in your head and that little ache in your throat. try transitioning it makes your body feel way better

[LBP - LBsA] special PUUCHIN drop!
that's right bitches (/affectionate)! got enough Puuchin here to choke on.
<ahem>
696 - γͺγγ«γγγ°γγΌγγ³-LittleBigCollector- by noni100percent
soooo... i don't know why Puuchin (that is to say The Collector) wound up getting adopted as a mascot by the Jside LBP kids, but it does seem to have been the case. Not that she would show up in every Japanese level, nor that she never showed up in non-Japanese ones, but she did figure in fairly often, and prominently in ways i never really saw her being used outside of them. Is very cute, she has a lovely, simple design.
just look at her. tits out at the pool, and not a care in the world. iconic.
As for the level, and holy shite. Like, seriously, holy shite. noni100percent, rhymes777, SAMURAI-09, and Rio_lotta, have worked together to:
(1) recreate the intro to LBP1, substituting Puuchins for all the people,
(2) create four unique stages all wiv their own theming, gimmicks, and enemies, wiv
(3) nine unique costumes, all granting their own ability, and
(4) a multistage final boss that requires you to be able to juggle between those costumes in order to beat.
Like, holy shite.
And are they successful in their endeavour? Ehhhhh.... 95%? Like way more successful than not. The gameplay is fun, the presentation is cute and varied, i love the idea of everything being Puuchin. Like, it's all really good.
But, on the honest downsides, The Western (4th stage) really needed better checkpointing, and there's a really fiddly jump about halfway through, that fucking up sends you all the way back to the beginning. That this jump is over a cactus, and it's already established the Gunslinger costume kills cacti, but not this one apparently, is kinda crummy and feels like an oversight.
The final boss, also, is probably just a bit too busy for its own good. It's all fun and games swapping costumes to handle the various attacks it does, and navigate to the buttons you need to hit to kill it, except, you've got no i-frames when in that menu, so you need to be in a safe space, but if you were in a safe space, you probably wouldn't need to be swapping costumes in the first place.
Aside from those two flies in the ointment, tho', and yeah, the level is fantastic, and if you've got the half-hour or so to invest in it, i'd highly recommend downloading it and having a go.

things are well enough here, i guess? finally cleaned some in the apartment, just the worst bits of dust (so, like, the south wall. that area gets hella dusty, and since that's where all my wires and cables are, it's a real pain in the arse to get sorted), and the bathroom sink. no idea why the sink, and not really anything else in the bathroom, picks up mold so bad, but it sure does do that thing.
got out to the bank to pull what cash i have out of my account, 'cause it's a lot easier not to spend it when i can't just pull out my debit card at the bini. this month's going to be real tight, but unless things totally crater in August, i should be able to just cover 2hours of electrolysis (along wiv the various attendant expenses, like needle fees. but not painkillers, so that'll be fun). that'll just have just have to be good enough, and if not, well, i guess we'll just have to get whatever's left over some other time. nurse on the phone was recommending 3hrs when i made my appointment, but there's no way in hell we'll have 180k yen plus fees by September. especially not wiv a tax bill to be paid on the August paycheck.
so. mixed bag, i guess. things have been way worse, so i try not to complain overmuch.
as humiliating as it is to repost myself from a light-mode-user's reddit screenshot, i cannot allow this year's zenquish to go uncelebrated.
celebrate my favorite holiday with me, my friends.
if the emperors of rome can add extra months that actually fuck the calendar up i'm allowed to add a new month that lasts 0.0000 picoseconds
the last holiday that hasn't been commercialized
i made this up when i was a little kid and nothing would make me happier than to see people celebrating it for years to come
zenquish approaches. prepare to rejoice! briefly!
