Wanderlust

So I'm just going to vent here because my phone won't charge and I don't want to ask some random person if I can complain to them. I'm just so disappointed in people in my age group. Not everyone, but a lot of people. Like the majority of people that go to my stupid rich white kid high school. I mean, my first boyfriend and his brother are throwing a party at their house while their single mother goes to work the night shift at the hospital in order to provide for them. She is literally the nicest lady I know and this is how they thank her? And my most recent ex stormed out of his house because his mom wouldn't move his curfew from 11PM to 1AM, and I guess he's going to go smoke pot now. And I'm over here like, do you hate your parents, or did they just not discipline you well enough when you were still young and impressionable and gave a care about the difference between right and wrong? Because I hear stories about people that have sex at school dances, and people that get high or drunk at get-togethers for clubs made for the purpose of team building and character building and whatever. And at those same clubs, the leaders give high school kids cocaine. And I think to myself, "Walt Disney was a part of this organization? Is it just this branch that is so corrupt, or is it this generation?" And I just can't even begin to comprehend how people feel so comfortable with being disobedient and throwing their lives away, because the worst I ever do to my family is turn an assignment in late for half credit. I could never begin to fathom doing drugs or drinking or sleeping around or disobeying my mother, and it's not like I was spanked as a child or anything. I'm sure I'd been grounded to my room before, and I've been denied things that I've wanted, and my mother threatened to put soap in my mouth. But I was never abused, and I turned out great. I'm going to try really hard to not end up like the parents of these kids.
