before the duel

Laurens and Hamilton were notoriously late to the Laurens-Lee duel on December 23, 1778, and we can only imagine why :) This is dedicated to @mussymuncher - who requested lams before the duel for an art trade!

MEANWHILE NEY:

I took some creative liberty with black and white ones because I love colours in my art. Also no shading there bc I'm lazy lol.

On what was based their order? Vibes known only to me. It's complicated. It's not matching my ranking of them.

Anyway that's so fascinating how you can interpret that man in so many different ways. I'm a big fan.

That winged voyager, how weak and gauche he is, 
So beautiful before, now comic and ugly! 
One man worries his beak with a stubby clay pipe; 
Another limps, mimics the cripple who once flew!

The poet resembles this prince of cloud and sky 
Who frequents the tempest and laughs at the bowman; 
When exiled on the earth, the butt of hoots and jeers, 
His giant wings prevent him from walking.

I imagined many things he might have thought of in the last ten seconds. I drew them all. And yet, when I finished, I began to feel that perhaps, in those ten seconds, he thought of nothing but the sun was too bright.
