The initial purpose of this blog would be to study, read and share about the French revolution. However, period in which I have been immersed reading about this event, I have developed a special fixation for Saint Just. So, in reality the publications will be much more focused on his person and his works.

“THE RIGHT TO WORK (Articles 16, 18 & 21). Among the elements constituting a citizen's property, the term "capital"—proposed by Condorcet—is replaced by the "fruit of one's labor." This concept was dear to Romme, who declared on April 17: "Every man who works is truly a property owner... People speak of capital as property. Yet why do we not speak of the worker's wages? His arms are his capital" (30). Saint-Just shared this thoroughly modern view of work with Romme, linking it to the duty to engage in a useful profession that could contribute to the common good: "Everyone must work and respect themselves; if everyone works, abundance will flow once more."
