In a perfect would, men like me would not exist.

we at least need to give the developers credit for fixing this shit
OP’s wrong unfortunately. It’s actually all about the anticipation. Downgrade.
only one ace attorney character has ever said the word "whore" in the actual games and if you told me who it was and i didn't already know then i would not believe you
WAIT WHO??
i expected it to be edgeworth
if it's any consolation, he's the only character to say "bimbo"
i cannot stress enough that i do not know which specific clown bitch you are talking about there are three separate circus clowns in ace attorney and they all deserve to be dunked on for different reasons
Uhhh the one who pops her titties
I regret to inform you Edgeworth had nothing to do with that case
He actually said it to Mia Fey

I think one of the worst things this site has normalized is the idea that sorting out disagreements privately in DMs is bad or creepy.
Damn, I WISH I saw other people thinking that. I really do not find it OK at all to take aggression into a personal space of heightened stress.
It's taking a disagreement to a threatening and personal level. If you prefer that, you can say so, but you can't erase how it's going to make the other person feel by blaming it on 'this site'.
If you're seeing a lot of other people take issue with this, maybe it's not a conspiracy of Tumblr Bad Behaviour, maybe it's something a lot of other people experience negatively and it's worth considering that before just going ahead and doing it your preferred way.
Phrasing it in a chronically Online way doesn't make you any less fucked up for airing out your personal beef where unrelated people can dogpile on someone instead of talking it out like an adult
See, there’s nothing inherently aggressive about private messaging someone. People absolutely do abuse the DM feature—I am very wary about receiving them because half the time the messenger is just baiting you to let your guard down so they can immediately screenshot and publicize whatever you say out of context. (Which is awful, and IMO the publication of private correspondence should be considered a lot more taboo and ‘last resort’ than it currently is on this site for the sake of trust and human decency.)
But going straight to public callouts gets aggressively personal and threatening, too. A one on one conversation can be unpleasant and insulting, but it’s literally always better to check in and make sure you’re not misunderstanding something before you drag a confrontation into the public where literally anyone can get involved. Getting doxxed or nearly doxxed because some rando made unflattering assumptions about my personal post is one of the most stressful things that has ever happened to me and if they’d just… talked to me privately first for clarification I could have saved a small fortune in therapy bills, lmao.
I’ve seen a lot of people claim that DMs make manipulation tactics easier. That… really depends on the manipulation tactics. No one coming into your DMs with fists swinging is likely going to be reasoned with, but some people are just assholes in any context. 🤷🏻♂️
tl;dr:
whatever security a witness provides is negated if the witness happens to be an axe murderer

the internet HAS been turned into a series of easily swallowable pills for quick consumption and standardization and I don’t think it’s ‘boomery’ to discuss how the internet no longer feels like a wild wild west and has been massively gentrified for quick access to anything you could ever want or need and that next hit of dopamine. there is a difference between ‘social media bad’ and ‘our experiences online are increasingly manufactured by algorithms looking to make money from scraping metrics of data about who we are to either sell us stuff or sell who we are to people who will sell us stuff’
