This one took a hot second but I'm superduperduper proud of it. I also know I promised pencil sketches to fill up the time but ya boy got carried away lol. This one is a counterpart to my other comic, "Blue Dress". Where that one had Puppet Spam reminiscing about his past, this one's about AdiSpam thinking about his future. I really really really want to make a sequel to this comic but it all depends if the reception of this is strong enough lol

AKA: My excuse to research flowers and their symbolism

Flowery - Buttercup

This is a given as it’s taken straight from implied Undertale canon. Shape-wise, these are likely an inspiration for all the flowers' light-world sprites.

Buttercups represent playfulness, joy, youth, and friendship.

Because they reflect sunlight and create a yellow glow, they are also associated with light. Which could mean nothing.

Orange - Copper Iris

Orange irises represent courage, bravery, pride, and youthful energy.

There are a few orange iris species, but I think the bright copper irises best suit her as one of the few orange "beardless" irises.

Yellow - Black-Eyed Susan

A yellow flower which often symbolizes justice as well as motivation and truth.

I also like that an injury is literally in the name considering Yellow’s whole deal. Ironically, they are actually very hardy and difficult to kill.

As a bonus, they’re native to the western United States.

Green - Envy Zinnia

Not only do Zinnias often represent long-lasting friendship, green zinnias represent good health and prosperity (you owe them $5) as well.

The name also feels very ironic and funny to me.

Aqua - Scilla (Wild Hyacinth)

Cyan flowers aren't really common in real life so I went with a sky-blue flower instead.

Scilla actually come in a range of cool tones from white to bright blue to purple. To distinguish from Blue, but still keep her bright, I gave Aqua a hue near the middle.

Hyacinths in general can represent play and sport, but scilla in particular represents optimism, new beginnings, and trust.

Blue - Delphinium

The deeper blue variety in particular.

Blue delphiniums represent grace, strong bonds of love, joy, and an open heart.

Bonus fact: blue roses like the ones Blue grows in-game and which are loosely associated with the chapter overall don't actually exist naturally. They have to be artificially created and often symbolize mystery or the unattainable!

Gee, I wonder what that could do with the chapter's themes...

Seth - Clematis

Represents mental beauty, cleverness, ingenuity, and aspiration.

Comes in many shades of pink and purple, but the bright purple suits them best.

Which is curious, because you would've thought that, after Heroes, Eggman would've just discarded him. If Metal had been any other robot he'd be scraps now. But he still exists. Eggman keeps on repairing him and keeping him around, even when he is clearly more trouble than what's worth it. Why can't he just create a new metal that actually listens from scratch?

But that's the thing: he can't if Metal is kept around is because Eggman can't replicate what he did with him. What makes Metal special, what makes him the one and only Eggman machine to consistently match with Sonic is not anything about power, speed ot strength. It's this little thing called passion. Because yes, maybe he's just following orders, but he also DOES want to kill Sonic. And he NEEDS to do it. He needs it so desperately. That burning passion to prove himself as sip is what gets him ahead from anyone else, and it's a feeling that Eggman didn't programmed into him, it just happened.

So even if Metal is more trouble than what's worth it, he's also too valuable to get rid of. All Eggman can hope is keep on adding and adding to his code until the robot finally listens. Curious, because the more he does that the more Metal keeps on loosing battles... It's almost as if stripping someone away from their autonomy also limits their capacity of showcasing passion for anything... Almost as if that restriction of passion obstructed to Metal's potential... ALMOST as if Eggman kept sabotaging his best creation over his obsession of control.

Very underrated AI imo, lab rats was like. Slightly above mid imo. But Eddy was like the shining beacon of light, he was THE reason I tuned in to watch it. What’s not to love, he’s rude, he’s petty, he’s clingy, he’s funny, he’s bisexual, and he wants to ruin your life for fun <3
