I actually like metamy more than sonadow and sonamy. For a few reasons.
I think the idea of metal actually returning the feelings for Amy is interesting. Metal, although believeing he is Sonic, doesn't actually have the same relationships as sonic. He has no tails, no kuckles, and at first, no Amy.
Developing a crush on Amy because of the kindness she showed him makes a lot of sense to me in this cause.
On Amy's side it creates this sense of guilt. Like being around Metal is just coping. Getting feelings, although it would be much further down the road, would probably feel like a rebound.
I had a lot more on amy but it was basically becoming an Amy rant so I'll put that in a different asks but basically once Amy starts seeing Metal as his own person and she actaully feels apreciated and she'd likely develop feelings as well.
Were basically in non canon hell at this point but this is why I actually really like their relationship.
Also I hc transmasc Sonic and transfem Metal because it would be so fucking funny if my clone transitioned in the opposite way from me and it means another wlw Amy ship. (Not that I necessarily like all of those because I do think a lot of people use them to sideline Amy for sonadow and other Sonic ships etc.)

Sonic is extremely irresponsible now that I think about it. He lets Tails, an 8-12 year old, go with him on missions. Sir that is a child. You are 15! You should know better than to let him do this stuff
whenever I see the ship name sonegg I forget it's a ship name and assume it is someone head canoning sonic as a trans egg (with his gender being based off other context clues of the post) before realizing sonegg is the ship name for sonic X eggman and isn't related to trans sonic head canons...
Not sure if anyone else wants this, but a Sonic prime mainline game sounds fun.
I feel like if they made this, it could be their chance to fix the inaccuracies and mischaracterizations. To this day, it pains me that Sonic prime is canon just because of the way they act.
Side note: I often wonder if one day they'll decanonize prime. Idk why, but it feels likely. Maybe the events happened in some capacity, but not the way they happened in the show.
i got a contradiction in me where i actually hate sonadow as a ship but also think its completely necessary. sonadow is the most obvious ship to ship for any fandom that is not toxic towards many groups, gay people or women for example. most fandoms that have two most popular guys, especially if they are rivals or foils, will ship them and it will probably be top billing ship even if there is a different canon romance. and shadow is like crazy popular, huge even for an antihero, to the point where he's almost coprotag sometimes.
so when you go to a different social media or even just like a discord where nobody ships sonadow, not even a little bit - its like you know its because there is something here actively toxic to sonadow. like if you went to a woods and noticed no pigeons or mice or squirrels - sure, they're not the thing i wanted to go see, i see them all the time and they're kind of a pest. but if there are none of them i know somebody has been fucking with the natural ecosystem of this woods and they're probably doing it because they're homophobic. okay metaphor fell over but you get the point.
so yeah i need to be in spaces where there is sonadow or i hear saxophones, but i also think it sucks and don't wanna see it. squirrels are little gardentrashing bastards but if you're mean to the squirrels i have to kill you so bad. fuck my stupid baka rodent life.
