I donβt buy for a second that Sonic originally was (explicitly) meant to like Amy back. I think it was retconned in to make their relationship look better to general audiences. Itβs sweet now, but was definitely not entirely sweet originallyβ¦

Hello, Iβm a bit new here!! I was scrolling through the blog and I just had a question.. What is this whole thing with Sticks having abortions, a cow lady, a pouch, etc? I saw it get referenced multiple times and Iβm so confused. Like whatβs the lore??? Why is it history? What made it such a big thing?
1. the sticks abortion memes come from the sister blog @unpopular-sonic-headcanons , someone just said they headcanon that sticks would have had multiple abortions. for some reason out of all the asks there, this one took off.
2. the cow lady refers to some discourse regarding a character in the idw chaotix special, a plus size female cow. people saw her on a cover, and raised concerns over the first plus size female character being a cow, as it felt like it could be potentially offensive. it later turned out that she was just a background character that existed in like two panels, so the cow lady discourse is often used here to signify we argue over dumb stuff
3. the pouch is from a headcanon someone shared here that shadow would have a pouch like a marsupial. they had thought out the biology of it all, and some people found it gross. there wasn't really much to argue over, but somehow people just kept talking about it in positive, negative, and neutral lights. pouch anon is still active on the blog and i will forever trust any headcanons they have about mobian biology if they were able to make shadow the marsupial plausible.
I know this will upset people but Amy never felt "12" to me, even as a 12 year old I felt like she was closer to Sonic's age (which I thought was 16 because in the classic games he is!) so in my mind she's always been one or two years younger than Sonic because child me saw her as a teen like Sonic.
I also remember thinking Knuckles was 17 because him being younger than Sonic was weird to me (and still is) but so was him being an adult lol. And I thought Tails was 11 or 12, not sure why, maybe I just wanted him to be the same age as me.

I find it really funny a lot of JP purists seem to be from the US. I'm not from the US but enjoy Sonic in all his different regions glory, so it feels odd to love a character but not the version from your country, especially when it's arguably the most popular version worldwide.
I donβt 100% understand why originally Amy was 12 and Sonic was 15. It feels unnecessary and from what I can tell, their age gap adds absolutely nothing.
