Watching Naruto for the first time at 31 yo to make my spouse happy. Turns out, they were correct and I’m hooked.

I just got to the first episode of Shippuden now and during the first 2 minutes they show me:

1) New pale guy. Who is he? Why did they tease me and then not show him again? I feel cheated.

2) Naruto still being obsessed with Sasuke after 2+ years, which like, ok, what was I expecting?

3) Sasuke, for .1 seconds and he is IMMEDIATELY being gay (not sure if we got more powerful during his training with Orochimaru, but he definitely became more of a drama queen that he originally was).

4) Sakura actually being competent? This was the most surprising thing of the ep I think, but good for you girl!

So yes, guessing this will be a wild ride.

P.S.: I also appreciated they decided to give Akatsuki an insane and gender-ambiguous version of Ino.
