         “ now hold on, ” he HELD UP his hand to interrupt. “ i didn’t say whatever you think it is didn’t kill her. the wound on her FACE just isn’t the major cause of her death. she did lose a lot of blood there, but there’s another marking on her chest. could be a stab wound or could be a claw mark, as there’s THREE PRONGS. why don’t you come take a look and assess it yourself ?? ” his eyebrows raise as he gets to his feet, tossing the gloves in a nearby trashcan. he would properly dispose of that later.

            his eyes fall away from her, TRAILING AFTER the vision he’d seen only moments before. however, when she SPEAKS up, he blinks and turns back to her with a small grimace. he nods. “ oh. y-yeah. i’m FINE. sorry. it’s drugs. i’m on DRUGS ------- ” except someone who was currently using would HARDLY admit to it. yet there was a fear underlining there that he just couldn’t name. he hasn’t been afraid for a very long time.

          C O N C E R N is etched across his face ( real or not real ? ) as he rushes to grab a glass of water for the poor girl. when he returns with the water, he smiles somewhat offering it up to her. he noticed the blood briefly before pointedly looking away. blood, unless on a dead body, gave him the chills. " there you are. "

           he’s HALLUCINATING ------ he knows he is. he’s hallucinating and he’s TERRIFIED. he hasn’t had hallucinations since he was twelve years old. this wasn’t good ----- this terrified him. hearing something snap, he spun around, only to come face to face with a young woman. the hallucination shatters. wide blue eyes still look dazed. “ i’m ---- i’m sorry? did you say something ?? ” he’s BREAKING ----- oh god, he’s fucking b r e a k i n g.

       “ look --------- i JUST need to ask you a couple of questions. ” he pulls his badge from his jacket pocket; a pretty little metal thing with DETECTIVE written across it. “ i’m just asking around if anyone knows anything about susan barry? she was a WAITRESS here. she was murdered last night. ” he offers up a picture of a pretty woman in her mid-twenties with dark blonde hair and brown eyes. she was very pretty. “ do you recognize her ?? ”

         one thing ryan doesn’t like? is to be ignored... ESPECIALLY when he’s talking. he grinds his teeth before forcing a smile on his face. rude. “ she was found this morning, but she’s been dead for, at least, three days. i’ve SPECIALIZED in analysis, but i prefer finding the murderers. let me know if you see something i didn’t. ” he takes a step back and allows her to continue her work in peace, all the while fuming silently at being ignored.

          “ ah ---- CLARA. thank you for meeting with me again. ” by now he’s already announced his actual identity to her. he hasn’t said anything about their strange INTERACTIONS prior to now, however. when someone walked past to ask him what he thought he was doing, he pulled his BADGE from his pocket and silenced them. that’s kind of how he told her who he was. now it was important for him to ask her a few questions. “ look, it’s just protocol. i’m asking EVERYONE i meet. my next person to question is the barista at the next table. ” he motioned towards the young blonde woman, chattering away with an associate and customer. “ so, whenever you’re ready we can begin. ”

        “ PARDON ? did you just say you’re a VAMPIRE ?? ” normally he wouldn’t ENTERTAIN this kind of delusion, but she has his interest now. cocking his head to the side, the detective forces a DISBELIEVING look on his face ----- appearing fascinated and SHOCKED all at once. he knew how to fake emotions; he knew how to fake them good.

       “ ah ---- you must be SENECA, is that correct? i’m DETECTIVE BAKER. i’m the lead in the homicide division ----- which means i’m the lead in this case. were you briefed on the case before we get started ?? ” he motioned towards the DEAD BODY ----- a young woman dressed in a black dress shirt and jeans, face down, with dark brown hair. there was blood pooling from her head and knife wounds evident on her back, the shirt ripped in certain places to indicate as such. 

        maybe a smol starter call will do the trick? like for a thing          and i’ll get to posting when i sign back in tonight.~

         “ i’m surprised you haven’t HEARD, ” he says, placing his hands on his hips calmly. “ the town SEEMS to be small enough. i did hear about that murder a few years back? i believe it was a few years ago. terrible what happened. ” he licks his lips slowly and presses another smile to give some form of COMFORT. “ yeah . . . there was a murder recently. the body hasn’t been identified yet. ” he shrugs again. that’s actually what he was doing ----- going off to QUESTION people, find out what they know about it, if anyone was missing or hasn’t come home in a few days. the man hadn’t been dead for LONG so ryan knows the killer is most likely still in town. who could have done it? that is a good question. ryan was going to find out.
