arguments weren’t common. you guys always made sure to come to an agreement.
but you could see the split in his eyes — a mix of absolute irritation. something that’d probably break you if he enacted on it. thankfully, he never did.
because arguments between you two shouldn’t happen. you guys were in love.
but you said the wrong thing. you made him feel foolish. at least, according to him.
“you’re always gone for days!” he shrieked at you. “in places that i can’t be. how am i supposed to look after you?”
“calm down, lohen!” you say, desperate and placating.
lohen grimaced. “calm down.” the words tasted sour on his tongue. utterly disgusting.
the space between you two went dull. cold, unbearing, dark.
the familiar, split glare flickered in his eyes. his voice was strikingly soft when he spoke.
you choked on air. sputtering from the sudden change in power, lohen only glared blankly. you quickly recovered, though a dark fear lingered.
“lohen. . .?” you murmur, holding your hands up cautiously. “. . . don’t freak out.”
lohen’s hand twitched. what a nonsensical thought, he thought.
in a flash, his arm reached for the resting knife on the table. his grip was firm yet shaky on the handle, the blade pointed to his chest.
“lohen!” you rushed forward but halted after the first few steps, your balance knocked.
because he had already plunged the knife through his heart from sheer and unguarded shock.
“is this freaking out to you?” he shouted, his tone a gurgle of blood and desperation. perhaps even self-consciousness.
“lohen— what is wrong with you?!” you scream, snapping out of your previously shocked daze to hurry towards him.
he gasped, crimson bleeding through fabric. his stabbed heart fluttered painfully at the sight of you rushing towards him. the love-induced spike of his heart rate powered through the invasive metal of the knife.
like the flip of a switch.
your breathing was heavy and harming, your hands rushing to his shoulders to carefully rest him on the floor.
he smiled, a dabble of blood slightly oozing the corner of his lips. and his eyes . . . softened.
“you’re fucking crazy,” you pant, your anxious breathing hitting his face.
