Sarah has written beautiful scenes for Elain that not only build her character, and some people love to pretend don't exist, but that have ultimately changed the fate of the main characters and the war, too:

Convincing Nesta to let Feyre and the fae into the Archeron estate,

Scrying for The Suriel,

Saving Nesta and Cassian's life by murdering the King of Hybern with Truth Teller;

Just to name a few.

So for the people who are so convinced that Elain is some background character with no importance, no relevance, no character development who doesn't even deserve her own book: I strongly encourage you to practice conscious reading because missing all of these and more is actually kind of pathetic.

In The Snow Queen, it is Gerda, kind-hearted, brave, and unwavering, who journeys north to save Kai.

Not with weapons.

Not with force.

But with love that refuses to be forgotten.

It’s hard not to see Elain and Azriel in them.

Elain, the light who would walk through ice and snow to bring him back.

Vallahan lies in the cold, distant north. And there’s foreshadowing, so much of it, telling us we may end up there soon.

Maybe that’s where their story will finally bloom.

Because in this fairytale, Elain gets to be the one who saves him.

And Azriel is just waiting for someone who sees him clearly… and still accepts him for who he is not what he is.

Hofas: We find out for sure the Daglan corrupted the cauldron

Azriels BC: Azriel is upset over Elain

Hofas: Azriel is upset about his love life and says he has no mate. This is a context clue he is still into Elain. If he was into anyone else or even attracted to anyone else and had hope of something new why would he be upset over his love life?
