hearing how two student have left the island in a span of only two weeks was slightly concerning and definitely disheartening. were the trials ahead proving too much for the young deities? ryan wasn’t exactly sure. he never expected this to weed out their roster. but regardless, he came to welcome the newest arrival to the towers. “good afternoon, mister pratt,” ryan greeted with his signature smile. he gave the male a quick glance over. clearly hermes had a type for tall, handsome boys. what else did he expect from a god associated with fertility? “my name is ryan nystrom. i’m your school curator and guidance counselor. please follow me. there’s somebody we’d like you to meet.” 

he then tossed a familiar looking marble into the crowd for somebody to catch. “that orb will take you back to the tower when your mission is complete, or in case of emergencies. it’s strong enough to teleport all fourteen of you.” the titan queen offered them a single cordial nod. “you will all leave first thing tomorrow morning. good luck, young deities.”

hearing his son’s reaction had ryan in a fit of laughter. zayn was no stranger to the displays of affection his parents often expressed for each other. “hey, now. we’re still hip and cool, y’know.” hopefully ryan was using the proper terms and slangs kids these days were so quick to throw in every sentence. gods, he felt old.  “people would pay hundreds upon thousands of dollars to watch your father and i go at it~” ryan remarked with a huge grin. for now the titan queen spared zayn the details of how he was born into this world. he offered an open ear as the younger male expressed the loneliness of living by himself on the top floor. “i... miss our old house too.” in fact, a huge part of him still wished things weren’t so different. ryan loved having a normal life with his family. “but the school isn’t so bad, right?” he added and forced a smile, just to keep the positivity within zayn. “the penthouses are amazing.” ryan pinched his darling boy’s cheeks affectionately. “you’ll make a mighty fine king, sweetheart. the entire world will fall at your feet.” 

a look of shock and hurt was evident in ryan’s facial expressions. he’s never seen zayn so upset with him before. they’ve always been so close as mother and son. now he’s noticing how his boy was drifting further away from him. ryan remained silent for a solid period of time, allowing the young male to vent his frustrations. “i’m sorry. i shouldn’t have allowed you to take part in any of this.” a few teardrops trickled down his cheeks. ryan wished he had the courage and power to shield his precious boy from the horrors awaiting him out there. like rhea protected zeus in the past. a sigh escaped him, still bewildered by the news of these two deities that invaded the tower. “by continuing to fight. like true olympians,” he stated plainly, looking straight into zayn’s crystal blue eyes. “you’re going to be a king someday. when the other gods fled during typhon’s attack, zeus stayed behind to continue defending his throne. i see his bravery and strength inside you.”

it took a moment for ryan to stop staring at the absolute perfection his husband was. he watched eagerly as cristian sauntered over to the bathroom. the sight of him alone caused ryan’s cock to twitch make his pants feel unbearably tight. as the space between them was closed, he wasted no time in allowing his hands roam cristian’s immaculate body. “i really want to pleasure my king right now,” ryan spoke, leaving kisses along the other titan’s neck. he then allowed his nose to graze the same area, taking in cristian’s scent. “i don’t think you need a wash at all, to be honest. you smell absolutely delicious as always.” his very fragrance was enough to drive ryan insane.

once the water was brought to a boil, ryan gently slid in the noodles for the pasta. he then turned the oven on and prepared a tray to bake the meatballs in. “your father and i have been together for years, love. we always have fun with each other,” ryan replied rather vaguely to spare his son of the explicit details of their marriage. “there isn’t a day since you moved to the towers when we didn’t miss you. don’t think for a second we are by any means glad you’re not under our care.” he hoped zayn wasn’t under the impression they kicked him out. in reality, ryan wished there was a way for him to permanently keep their darling boy within the nystrom household. he gave zayn a huge grin. “yeah? i bet you’re becoming quite the popular young man. just like in your old school.” 

pure worry was etched into ryan’s features as he watched his son express such immense frustration. he listened to zayn’s explanation, his eyes widening at the mention of yet another god attacking the students. his gaze moved to the burned collar in zayn’s hand and the writing engraved on it. the school guidance counselor let out an exasperated sigh and massaged his forehead to alleviate some stress. “the tower is and has been the safest place for all of you,” ryan replied and bit his bottom lip. at least, that’s what he was told too. the barrier kept all kinds of monsters and creatures out. “in the decades we titans spent here, we’ve never once encountered deities from different pantheons.” him and the other professors were lead to believe they’d be the only ones around. he glanced back at zayn and offered a sympathetic look. “zayn, you have to understand. there are things beyond your father and i’s control. the decrees of the fates are final. i’ll do my best to protect you, sweetheart. but you have to promise mommy you’ll be strong for him. to fight and win your battles.”

an over-exaggerated gasp escaped his lips in response to elijah’s feigned threat. foresight was quite the extraordinary gift. not to mention perfect for pulling out receipts of past events to someone. he proceeded to squeeze elijah’s thigh assuringly. ryan knew the other titans bore children as well. not all of them were chosen to be vessels, which made him all the more grateful zayn was among the select few. “you did the right thing. in the long run, keeping our world a secret was the wisest choice.” he offered another warm smile. from one parent to another, he was able to sympathize with elijah. “but arvin’s here now! i was present during his rites of divinity. he accepted his new life without second thought! spoken like a true olympian.” his lips curled to a grin, proud the boy ascended with the other gods. elijah then proceeded to remind him of the matriarch’s role in the nystrom dynasty. “the queen is the most powerful piece in chess for a reason,” ryan concurred, recalling all the creative ways he’s made his kings bend the knee. “a great man such as yourself deserves a loving partner. i was hoping you and teddy would get together a lot sooner, but the fates can take a while bringing the best people into your life.” ryan got up from the bench and grinned. “let’s get a drink, on me. tomorrow’s saturday so no classes and we can both let loose.”

already ryan was placing kisses all over his husband’s impeccable chest, and they haven’t even gotten in the bath yet. he fought the temptations and stopped himself just in time to reply. “for you, i’m always starving.” the titan queen beamed and chuckled at cristian’s words. he stole another sweet loving kiss from the headmaster’s lips and stepped back. “i’ll get the water started for us. one more second spent here and i’ll be devouring you right at this spot.” with that said, he bid a temporary farewell and made his way to the bathroom down the hall. there, ryan turned the faucet on in the tub and checked the temperature before calling the other man over. “where’s the love of my life at, hm?”

if ryan had his way, he’d want the boy to move in with them. however, he knew the school might address a few issues regarding how their family was bending the rules already established. “of course sweetheart,” ryan replied and added a few more meatballs into the bowl. he then proceeded to start boiling a pot of water for the pasta. “i saw you more as a stay-at-home mom, yes. but i have to help your father now,” the titan queen explained with a light smile, hoping his son would understand. “that said, i’m more than happy to spend time with you in the office. nobody can say anything so long as you schedule an appointment.” he was obligated to help all students, including his child. part of him wished they didn’t have to go through such means just to see each other, but this should do for the time being. 

once the last button was undone, ryan wasted no time in revealing his husband’s muscular hairy chest. he returned cristian’s kiss with equal fervor and used a thumb to circle one of his nipples. “oh hush~ the other titans are pretty big too. but i’m with you because i love you,” ryan retorted with a playful grin. although truth be told, he clearly adored burly men. that much was clear. next, he unbuckled cristian’s belt and began to unzip his slacks. “i’ll get the water started. but maybe i can... clean you up a bit myself? before you get in the tub.” ryan asked, wanting to put his tongue to good use in servicing the headmaster. 

it warmed ryan’s heart to hear those words. his son has grown up so much over the past years. he was starting to worry zayn didn’t need him in his life anymore. fortunately, that wasn’t the case and he longed to be home with both his parents. “we missed you too, sweetheart. so much,” ryan assured him and put on an apron. “i know, things have happened so fast and we never got to talk much as a family. we can do so this weekend. just the three of us, okay?” he promised and instantly began pulling ingredients from the pantry. “what’s my baby boy in the mood for today?” the titan queen wanted to whip up one of zayn’s favorite dishes and truly give him a sense of normalcy again. “i’m... doing fine. i still go to your room at our old house sometimes and wish you were there. i hardly get to see you during school hours.”

a blush tainted ryan’s features in response to the statement. he and cristian have been school sweethearts regardless of the part they played in the cosmos. it brought him comfort knowing others saw how much cristian loved him as well. “stop, you’re making me all flustered now,” he retorted with a chuckle. ryan then placed a hand on his dear friend’s thigh and offered him a sympathetic smile. “i know the feeling. zayn isn’t the happiest with us, either.” ryan admitted he too would express the same frustration if his parents kept such an enormous secret from him. he couldn’t blame the boys for being upset. “listen, we’re here for them every step of the way. not only as teachers, but as their parents as well.” the titan queen let out a heavy sigh and snickered. “imagine having to deal with two kings, eli. my job isn’t easy, but i’m grateful to have both cristian and zayn in my life.” his lips curled into a wide grin as he turned towards eli again. “enough about my family, though. why don’t you tell me about teddy and arvin.”

all three of them seem to be busy these days. he longed to go back to a time when things were a lot more... tranquil and normal. ryan knew better than to challenge the fates, but he wished destiny didn’t intervene so much with his family. “he’s doing alright, yes. zayn misses you very much. i’ve invited him over to stay for the weekend. i think our boy just wants to be with his mother and father for a bit.” ryan hummed and revels in the embrace. hands roamed up cristian’s muscular frame and stopped on his broad shoulders. “takes after his dad, of course. a few more years and he might be the same height as you.” he chuckled at the thought and rubbed their noses together in a tender manner. “want me to prepare a bath for you? get you a fresh change of clothes?” the titan queen offered and began to pop open the top buttons of cristian’s dress shirt.
