Lumberjack Baes from Oliphant Brewing out of Somerset, WI. My first beers from these guys and hopefully not my last. This was a great hazy, everything you expect from a hazy IPA.

Side by side of beers from Big Dog’s Brewing out of Las Vegas, NV. First up was Peace, Love & Happiness, a West Coast Pale Ale. This was great, hoppy & tropical, very smooth. Next up was War Dogs , an Imperial IPA. This was hoppy & very effervescent. I liked the PL & H a little more but I really enjoyed them both.
Pako’s IPA from Snake River Brewing out of Jackson Hole, WY. Man this was a rock solid IPA, hoppy & floral, never going overly bitter with a nice mouthfeel. Sad I only have one of these
Mexican Lager from Logboat Brewing (really thought they’d call it Mexican Logger) this was a really good Mexican Lager, malty & a nice lime flavor. Definitely would try this one again.
Great addition to the Sue series

Side by side of Fruited Wheat Beers from Firestone Walker. Cali Squeeze Raspberry Lime & Blood Orange. The Raspberry Lime was pretty good but the flavors were not overly distinct, more of hints of berry & citrus. The Blood Orange was great, with an orange flavor upfront that eased into a citrus flavor in the finish.
Jefferson’s Bock, on tap at Jefferson’s in Lenexa, KS. Beer is brewed by Goose Island & is a pretty good bock. I like it better than the wheat.
Jefferson’s Wheat, brewed by Goose Island out of Chicago, on tap at Jefferson’s in Lenexa KS. It’s an ok wheat, not bad but nothing exceptional.
Brewery visit #24 of the year was the new Big Grove Brewery in Prairie Village, Ks. This place was packed but the food, beer and service were great. In order of favorite to least were Color TV, Easy Eddy, Citrus Surfer POG, Neighborhood Beer, Summer Jam, Citrus Surfer, Paper Sun & Easy Going. All of these were worth trying again. Lastly I had the giant pretzel with the beer cheese & the maple mustard. Man that mustard is amazing.
Side by side of Kólsch beers from Germany. First up was Früh Kölsch from Cologne, Germany. This was light bodied & smooth with just a hint of sweetness. Next up was Gaffel Kölsch, also brewed in Cologne. This was fairly different, while also light bodied it was more dry & had more bitterness & none of that hint of sweetness. I liked them both but was really surprised at the difference. All in all for my taste I preferred the Früh.

Side by side of beers with strawberry. First up was StrawGator, a strawberry dopplebock from Abita Brewing. This one was great with a smooth strawberry flavor that is never overpowered by the 8% ABV. Next up was Strawberry Jam, a sour beer w/strawberry & cherry from Big Grove Brewery. This was really good, tart from start to finish with a decent berry flavor. Overall the StrawGator was definitely my favorite but I wouldn’t turn either down.
Sickies House Amber at Sickies Garafe in Overland Park, KS. Malty with a caramelly finish.
Started with Anniversary Ale, which was a margarita flavored lager and is exceptional. Smooth & crisp with a lime flavor & just a hint of saltiness on the finish. Next was the Backroads Common with raspberry. A little heavier than the Linwood lager, this was still really good, but paled in comparison to the Anniversary Ale.
Love Shack Raspberry Gosé from 3 Rings Brewing out of McPherson, KS, on tap at The Bar in Mission KS. Light bodied & tart with a great raspberry flavor. I think I need to make a road trip to McPherson soon
Symphonic Chronic Double West Coast IPA. Citrusy upfront and going piney on the finish, it has hints of dankness that never goes over the top. It’s got a light bodied feel, never goes super bitter for a DIPA. Would definitely have this one again.

Cyber Sue from Toppling Goliath. Hoppy & piney, hints of a tropical flavor upfront & a finish going dank. The bitterness lingers & you don’t get that tropical hint on the later sips.
Yenlo IPA from Palmer Brewing. This one was a great IPA, piney hoppy upfront then going a little grassy on the finish. Could see slamming a few of these on a float trip.
