đŤ âWell, my dad isnât all of us. Everyoneâs got their own say in stuff. To be fair to him though, you havenât exactly been on anyoneâs good side on our end either.â That was just how it was. Both sides were nasty to each other for a long time now. By now it had just finally hit its breaking point. If there were people who wanted to branch away from Negan, not everyone had to be friends, but nobody was going to take out Neganâs group without some help. Not a group that large.
Of course, the communities would no longer provide for anyone but each other, so if Simon hoped they would revert to that, he was out of luck. The good thing for him was that heâd been taking orders from Negan, and that someone was the real target of this war. Carl hadnât had the best experience with Simon either, and quite frankly he wasnât all that interested in getting to know the man. If they could deal with Negan and the other volatile Saviors first, they could deal with their own differences later.
Carl shrugged a bit, sighing and shaking his head slightly as he looked at the ground, hoping to come up with the right words. He wasnât here for a fight, and he didnât really care if Simon lived or died in the end. If he wanted to go out after this and do his own thing, he didnât really care. All Carl wanted was for the bullshit to come to an end, and if they had to team up with old enemies to get rid of their mutually bigger problem, he could tolerate this particular person for now.
He looked back up at Simon, shoulders dropping with another, heavier sigh. âLook, both sides have been at each otherâs throats. Iâm sorry if youâve been impacted by it too, but thatâs all the more reason we have to deal with Negan. When this is all over, I donât mind if we never have to cross paths again. I just think we can help each other settle this. Then we donât have to lose anything anymore and neither do you. If you want to be free of Negan, well, thatâs how we feel. If you donât wanna work with us, Iâm not trying to make you. If itâs mutually beneficial, I just think itâs something we should consider.â
He couldnât deny things werenât working how they should as of late with Negan no matter how much good the other man thought he was doing. If anything, things weâre steadily going downhill for them, they were just above the surface of shit that was this war and drowning in it was  not an option for him.
However did he really want to squash everything with Rick and his group? They had been a thorn in his side that he just couldnât pull out, one that left a sour taste in his mouth every time he thought about them. Did he really want to gather âround the campfire and sing kumbayawith the people that RUINED this world for him?
Would it be  beneficial for him if he managed to get rid of Negan AND Rick? Absolutely.
âTell you what. â He began, reaching out to be able to flick at the brim of the others hat. âYou make sure that if I decide to come on back to strike some sort of a deal with your pa, Iâm not choking on bullets before I even get the chance to open my mouth.â A finger raises as he tilts his head a bit to his left. âand REMEMBER! I want that apology. âÂ
