A project where I write about Kirby bosses and make them look like screenshots.
Kirby Super Star Ultra and Kirby's Return to Dream Land began giving boss battles special text screens with backstory and lore on the pause menu. But what if all the older games had those too?
This project is exactly that - boss battle Special Page mockups for all of the pre-RTDL mainline Kirby games and their bosses. 106 images in total.
Kirby's Dream Land - (10 images) - "He wants to make an example out of Kirby, then eat a meal fit for a king! Stop him!"
Kirby's Adventure - (9 images) - "Many worlds have ancient texts warning about terrible monsters - parasitic nightmares who roam the cosmos in search of dreams to feed on."

The goals of this project:
Write text descriptions that feel accurate to Kirby's tone - with levity, humor, and a sharp left turn into more serious tone in the final act. Screens are written with the idea that maybe the games were remastered, and text screens were added - so sometimes references to later games may show up.
Make image mockups that feel authentic to the games themselves. To this effect, I made all these mockups in the resolutions of the games themselves, and tried to use appropriate fonts (some of which work better than others).
Include a healthy amount of worldbuilding and connections to other titles, with an increased emphasis on info lost in translation from the original JP scripts, and sometimes foreshadowing later entries. Some of this is headcanon stuff, but I tried to make it feel like it could come from the games themselves.
Use the average length of a text screen from Kirby: Triple Deluxe and onward as a baseline for how much text is acceptable in each mockup.
I'm pretty proud of this project. It has some rough edges but generally I'm happy with the descriptions themselves (though the designs could've been better). Regardless I really enjoyed making these, and they spiced up my first series playthrough of the Kirby series since I was a kid.

(Sorry I haven’t asked in a while, further maths, maths, physics and chem have been draining all my time) Anyway, what tips does anyone who can answer have for exams, and wellbeing during exam season?
Personally—I’d say you shouldn’t worry yourself TOO much about exams. The more you stress yourself out the more likely you are to perform…poorly. Get good rest, study up at reasonable intervals, eat well, take breaks when you need it, stay hydrated…basic things. Exams aren’t the end of the world—ha! A lot of the time they’re not even worth a good portion of your overall grade! But ehh….you got this.
Just believe in yourself! And take care of yourself!

hmm... this isn't a topic i'm especially well versed in (and i think i still have a lot of work to do regarding it) but i can do my best to show my process
VERY first thing i do when drawing dresses is draw the legs beneath.
you can make them as simple or as detailed as you want. the important thing is that they're 3d (at least in your head. get enough down to where YOU know what's going on)
then, add some guides so you know where the tops and bottoms of the dress are. use the basic pose to determine which parts of the dress (if any) will be outwards. if it would help, you can draw the pose from a side view.
and then you sort of "connect the dots" while keeping in mind the forms of the legs beneath.
when i draw them in this sort of pose, they end up looking a lot like loose pants haha
drawing folds specifically is kind of tricky, and it's something i'm still figuring out myself. there are plenty of tutorials around that are made by people with much more skill and training than i, but the gist is: consider points where the body beneath would create a lot of tension and use that
i myself am not very good with drawing dresses yet (i've only just begun!!) so the best thing i can recommend is unfortunately: study. OR do what i've done and just look at other people doing it until you absorb it (which is studying but longer. But less immediately boring)
