Reylo Is Canon

This is my favorite scene from the movie. 

Because I know Rey’s face. 

The face of a woman who loves someone she knows she shouldn’t. The face of a woman who once dreamed of happy ever after with a man she now has to hate because he threw her away. And she hates that she can’t hate him. After all this time, after all he did, she still loves him. No matter how many times she calls him Ren. No matter how many times she tries, he’ll always be her Ben. He’ll always be the one person she would die for. 

And when she told Ben she wanted to take his hand with tears in her eyes, as if all the hopes and dreams she had for them together is dying before her eyes, her face is that of a woman wondering why it all came to this when he was the one person who made her feel safe and loved and not alone in this galaxy.

 I also know Ben’s face. 

This is the face of a man who never believed he could amount to something let alone be loved like this. So fully. So whole heartedly. As if he was worth dying for. This was the face of a man who realized he’s been pushing away all he ever needed for things he thought he wanted. And he’s been trying to get her back with promises of power and galaxies when all she ever wanted was him. Just his hand. Just Ben. 

Not the leader of the First Order. Not the emperor of the galaxy. Just Ben. 

And the utter wonder and devastation in him as he realized how much time they lost just because he was stubborn and idiotic breaks me. Here was the woman who broke him apart. And here was the woman who put him back together.
