Dora Milaje fact sheet: (these are facts from the comics so some may be changed for the Black Panther film)

pronounced “dora-meh-LAH-shay”

name means “adored ones”

assembled as potential queens for the unmarried king, maintaining the peace in Wakanda by ensuring that every tribe has the opportunity to put forward one of their daughters for the crown

however, T’Challa only viewed them as daughters, not actual wives-in-training

most of the Dora Milaje don’t have names, but some do, like Okoye, Nakia, and Ayo

at one point there were over 500 members of the Dora Milaje order and helped defend Wakanda during Marvel’s Civil War storyline

fiercest and most accomplished female fighting team in the Marvel Universe

two members fought Black Widow to a standstill (Black Widow was shown to have many injuries but there was no mention of injured Dora Milaje members)

two members were deceived into attacking and came close to killing Omega-level mutant Storm 

highly skilled in a specialized form of martial arts, but are also trained in various bladed weapons like swords, spears, nun-chak, bo-staff and more

trained to kill, but by Black Panther’s orders they’ll limit themselves to maiming

there’s a subdivision called Midnight Angels who are basically like the best of the best (and the Dora Milaje are already the more superior women from Wakanda so that’s saying something)
