The prince sits high above him in the tourney stands, straight-backed, looking almost bored.

He doesn’t look at Alex.

Alex, meanwhile, looks only at him.

Henry’s hair full of sunlight. The clear-sky-blue of his eyes. His tightly-lined jaw when Alex mock-bows in his direction, lance held up in mock-salute.

The clench of his hand when Hunter somehow unseats Alex, just once.

The cool tilt of Henry’s chin while presenting Alex with the champion’s award.

david pov double drabble for the ever-esteemed @everwitch-magiks and @sparklepocalypse

David knows he’s a very good dog.

He finds the best sticks. He doesn’t bark at squirrels— much. When his human stayed in bed for days, David stayed too, until the soggy man came and made everything better.

David gets excited when his human takes him to a loud place that has many birds. The soggy man— he is dry now— comes too. He smells nice. He even jumps into all the leaf piles with David.

His human does not, but he does laugh often now.

David’s new bed is in a warm part of a big, bright room. He hides things there, like the good-smelling man’s slippers, and the small folding sticks he puts on his eyes when everyone’s in bed. (David’s careful not to chew those. His human’s very fond of them.)

This way, the good-smelling man can’t ever leave.

David also likes to make circles around their legs when they go on walks, so that his human gets stuck to the good-smelling man. This is David’s favorite trick yet.

David’s a good boy. A smart boy. The best boy.

a werewolf alex and vampire henry au. double drabble. for @hollivens.

Alex loves these woods at night. Courting danger. Courting freedom. Like the two things are so different.

“Are you lost, little wolf?” The words drift to him through the trees, silver-toned and hypnotic. “There’s no full moon here tonight.”

“‘Little’?” scoffs Alex. “Wanna say that again to my face?”

The voice lets out a quiet laugh. “Oh, gladly.”

Alex blinks, and he’s there. Cheekbones carving light from shadow. Eyes piercingly-blue.

Alex had always been told vampires were all the same. Unfeeling. Inhuman.

Alex had believed it, until Henry.

Henry shifts, not-quite-reaching for him. “You shouldn’t be here.”

“So tell me to go.” Alex moves closer.

Henry looks away. “You know I wouldn’t.” When he looks back, it’s with eternity in his eyes. “I would never.”

“Baby,” Alex murmurs. “Come here.”

Henry’s face fits perfectly against the curve of Alex’s throat. He presses a kiss to the silver scar there. Alex smiles.

For all Henry’s restraint, he’s much less discreet than Alex is about where they leave their marks on each other.

And I thought maybe next summer we could come back here for like a couple weeks…
