After the events of SWSH Eternatus escaped from the Pokeball that was used to attempt to detain it. It used the last of it's energy to shrink itself down then flee into the streets of Wyndon where it found a person to attach itself too and take possession of their body. Due to the events of SWSH & the fact that much of it's body and power is now being used across Galar to Dynamax Pokemon Eternatus has only a bit of it's power left. It wants to regain as much of it's power as it can in order to return home and has decided the best way to do that is to destroy the Powerspots across Galar or better yet simply destroy Galar entirely.
