Wynonna huffed a laugh, guilt lightly stabbing away at her heart when she remembered the text that wasn’t. “Would it matter if you had?”

That .... would be freaking hilarious. 

             “ That’s what you get for asking questions. ”

Loki hops up to sit on the railing, grinning impishly. For a moment he wobbles slightly, and seems like he might actually topple over backward — but he rights himself quickly enough, and wraps his ankles around one of the bars to keep steady. Physical finesse? No. But he’s got enough of the mental sort to balance out whatever else he might be lacking.

             “ Humans gonna human. ”  He shrugs.  “ You and I’ve got enough in common that to them we really must seem like the same person. I think it’s adorable. In a … sort of sad way. Like a toddler’s painting. You know they’re trying their best, and their horses look like dogs and their dogs look like horses, but by the Three they both have four legs and a long nose so you just sort of … acknowledge that maybe art isn’t the kid’s strong suit and move on with your day. ”

His grin returns, and he resists the urge to ruffle the Morningstar’s hair. 

             “ I mean, look at us, darling. We’re practically twins. ”

He can’t help the laugh Loki’s comparison pulls from his chest and he doesn’t want to. So the Devil laughs a musical little laugh and leans a little closer.

“They are quite like children. Or trained monkeys. one has to be impressed with their efforts, however crude.”, and it’s not a hard admission to make. He does have his own fascination with humanity, after all. Even if that fascination does not seem to run quite as deep as Loki’s. 

that second comparison does, strangely, flatter him. However humorous the statement is delivered, he can’t deny the truth of it. They have much in common in the bodies they have chosen for themselves. Between the slender build, fine boned features and light hair. So, Lucifer smiles and inclines his head in what may be a nod.

“I certainly prefer your company over that of most of my family.”

Below them, a shout draws his attention. He just catches the impact of a young woman’s hand on what may be her lover’s cheek and Lucifer’s smile turns a little curious.

She’s surprised at the grace in his movements. There was no sudden, jarring force that brought her to him. One moment she was standing and the next he’d set her on the piano top. “Fine right where I am, Lucifer.” Wynonna keeps her eyes on his, not closing them until she’s kissing him hard.

He chuckles into the kiss, delighted and closes the lid over the the keys with the hand that isn’t running up her back and into her hair. Long fingers wind into her locks and pull, tilting her head out of the kiss and exposing the length of her neck.

The chord managed to be completely in tune while Wynonna’s breath hitched. Her free hand reaches for him, impulsively moving to pull him near as he shifts her legs apart. “Quit talking and start teaching, then.”

The hand that’s been guiding hers across the keys grabs her wrist and, with a curl over her head, gets enough leverage to pull her back around to him. There’s barely any hesitation until he grips her by the back of the thighs, right under her behind and lifts her off her feet with inhuman strength. A second later, she’s sitting on the piano and his mouth is hovering an inch from hers. 

Her cheeks warm slightly, his nearness making her feel a bit more brave somehow. “Really? Chopsticks? Heart and Soul? One of those funny sounding dirges on the deep end of things.” Wynonna is surprised she can try to tease.

“Don’t mind if I do.” Wynonna slips away from his hands, moving ahead of him. She takes a moment to smile, one hand moving down to rest against the keys without actually pressing down. “I’d wanted to learn piano,” she murmurs. “Didn’t have the time.”

“Only when I want to be.” Which is what she was doing just then. His hands momentarily rest on her knees then begin to travel upward and she feels almost stupidly giddy. “It’s a nice piano.”

“I don’t usually go for telling people things. Not in the dirty talk way.” Okay. A lie. Not a big one. But still. “You look like you’re pretty good with your hands.” WYNONNA.
