Vox finds Lucifer at Heaven's Embassy and witnesses some of the archangel's punishment. Lucifer tries to threaten the sinner and send him away only for Vox to find an opportunity to capitalize and turn Pride against the Morningstar.
âNow thatâs interesting.â Vox purred, cagey eyes fixed on the broken chains locked about Luciferâs neck, wrists and ankles. Without breaking his focus from Lucifer, Vox lifted a hand and snapped two claws, setting the drones into motion. Camera shutters began clicking, video recorders whirring - and one highly amused Media Overlord standing there in the middle of it. There were gifts, and then there gifts. âOh, Lu,â he cooed, âyou shouldnât have.â - Vox
None of them had any idea what true power was. The same force that had shaped the universe and everything within it, breathed life into humanity, had created beings just beneath His own power, with sparks of nature and creation wound into the very fabric of their existence. And Lucifer was second strongest only to one other being besides the Father.
Smoke curled from the corners of his mouth, the outward sign of his growing anger - fury bubbling under the surface like magma waiting to boil over and explode from the crust of the earth. The unlit candles around them exploded into flame, wicks burning fast and bright and ephemeral before flashing back out. Melted wax dripped down the surfaces that had held them, as if the furniture was bleeding from death wounds. "You think you've already won some victory here, you mouthy little mortal. Well, I hate to inform you otherwise." - Lucifer
âOhhhh, ohhh, VOX POPULI, I like that!â Vox roared, wide eyed and gap toothed, crunching a heel down onto Luciferâs fallen hat. âNo, wait, wait, actuallyâŚ.I LOVE IT!â He flattened his showmanâs gesturing palms out in front of him, laying it on thick. âYou really missed your calling, Luci. Advertising would have suited you. Itâs where they put all the socially awkward dorks with occasionally good ideas.â Riding real high on his own fumes now, Vox leaned in and down again, grinning into the fallen angelâs reddening face. âOf course, you wouldnât actually know that, since you never lived a single fucking day on Ear-OH FUCK!â - Vox
Wavering, distorted eyes appeared along his body in a subconscious manifestation of demonic power, glaring with violent red light that illuminated their surroundings harshly. "Oh, Vox," Lucifer rasped out, a secondary gaping jaw opening up on the side of his elongated face. Blood trickled from between sharp teeth, rivulets shaken off by a deep, rumbling chuckle. "Did you really have to pay me back so harshly for that slight you thought was visited against you at the theater? Your envy is as sharp and biting as acid."
It was all too obvious to know he was a convenient target. Vox's true ire wasn't directed at him, since he couldn't actually lash out at Alastor easily. "So angry because he didn't consider you in opening night." - Lucifer
