“ For what exactly? ”

“ Yes, those... If I remove them, all of my energy is released. I had no choice. ”

“ His name is Terios. ” Shadow answered shortly. He came off as brash, but he loved his Chao greatly.

“ I enjoy reading if given the time. ”

“My limiters were removed. I couldn't. ”

For a moment, the quiet warrior looked almost… taken aback. His ears perk up and after a moment, his stony features soften ever so slightly. He bows his head respectably, closing his eyes. “  Thank you... I will remember your words. ”

“ Are you going to scold me, Sonic? ”

“ I can arrange that. ”

“ …I was not concerned about my own well-being during that encounter. My only goal was to fulfil my promise and I am prepared to make any sacrifice to do so. ”

“ We? ” Shadow repeated with equal amounts of bitter sarcasm lacing his words. He let a barely audible huff pass through his lips, Sonic wouldn't be easy to shoo away and he couldn't use Chaos Control right now. He needed to reserve his remaining Chaos Energy to heal his injuries or he may find himself in trouble. Despite how nonchalant the darker-furred hedgehog was acting, there was evident strain in his usual stoical features.

“ Yes, thank you for that assessment. ” Shadow spat at the other with heavy sarcasm dripping from his words-- along with the deep red liquid running rivers through his jet black pelt. However, the most noticeable wound afflicting the reckless warrior was his arm... which was bent the wrong way. Despite this, Shadow appeared only mildly inconvenienced.

“ I wouldn't know. Alcohol doesn't affect me. ”

The fierce warrior’s ears were pulled back, eyes flashing dangerously at the other. His blood-spattered lip was curled, exposing sharp, clenched fangs. One arm was wrapped around his torso, covering a large wound that was leaking deeply-shaded blood over his forearm. The hedgehog appeared to be treating this normally life-threatening injury as a minor inconvenience.
